Anya wrinkled her nose at him teasingly before slowly getting in the water. Her head bobbed under for a moment before finally resurfacing with a grin, though it was almost too big of a grin, if that was possible. The water was cold... from the cooler weather, but after a few moments, she started to get used to it a little. That, or she was going numb, but right then it just didn't bother her. For a second, it felt like she was floating up in the stars... and god it was gorgeous. She was glad Sage had decided to bring her here... she could 't even begin to imagine such a magical place. "You and I both know you love it when I tease you!" She purred with a soft chuckle.

Sage rolled his eyes with a grin. "You're just lucky I like you," he joked. He swam over next to her, glad she had mostly gotten over her fear of the water. He was enjoying this, he really was. He hadn't been to this cave in years, and he finally had time to. This was a place he could share with Anya....he hadn't ever brought anyone else to his little hideout, if you could call it that. Even Lizzie. It saddened him to think he never could bring her, but if Anya was the one he could share this place with...well that was nice too. She was purring at him again, though, and his cheeks flushed a bit when she spoke. Edited at September 2, 2022 09:30 PM by NightClan

Anya grinned and kind of circled him for a moment just to get used to the coolness of the water before pausing next to him and sending a small splashing him. "I'm lucky you put up with me at all at the moment." She replied lightheartedly, knowing full well what her teasing and flirty tone did to him. This place was so... perfect. And right then, she found that there was no one else she would rather be there with. She hadn't expected the water to be so deep though... she thought that she would at least be able to touch the ground, which send a slight panic through her before getting her for a bit. Sage grinned and sent a small splatter of water back her way playfully. "I could say the same thing to you," he responded in a teasing tone. Anya seemed to be getting over her fear of the deeper water, which was good...being able to swim would eventually serve her well. But so far she had been fine with it tonight, and he was thankful for that. They could have some fun tonight. And maybe, just maybe, with Anya being bold they could act like they were just two teenagers in love instead of two teenagers about to be separated for who knows how long. (I was thinking, what if they get kidnapped for a long time, and the queen herself comes with to find her daughter? And then ends up meeting sage too, and motherly instincts kind of take over when she learns more about him? So she ends up helping him too, much to everyone's surprise and the guards anger? Idk it was an idea, lmk what you think)

(Ooh, yeah I like that! We could totally do something along those lines. I already have an idea about how that would go lol) Anya gave him a small grin. "I'd put up with whatever you throw at me. She chuckled slightly and swam over with an almost evil smile. She liked Sage... no, that wasn't a strong enough word. This wasn't a crush anymore... maybe it never had been. If it had been, the looking at him now, she would admit that she loved him. Why was this so hard? She was meant to leave him soon, to never come back, and now she was admitting to herself that her feelings were stronger than she had thought. This was so wrong... yet she couldn't imagine being with anyone else right then. She was being brave, or trying to be, but she was almost shrinking away again, in fear that she'd make the wrong move. That she'd make him uncomfortable, and he'd want to get out of whatever situation she put him in. That would break her... and although he had been blushing whenever she got close, or even when she said something slightly more out of hand, that was just human nature. She had almost worried that she was scaring him, and that he didn't know what to do about it. Suddenly, she was regretting her earlier actions. She had enjoyed messing with him, but what if he hadn't. God, she was spiralling a little. Her evil smile faded a little and swam back a bit more, sort of hiding behind a splash she sent towards him. (ok cool! It's a plan then XD) Sage yelped and ducked under the water when she sent the splash his way. He sent a wave of his own back in the general direction of where he thought the grill was when he resurfaced, though he couldn't see anything because his normally wavy hair was now flopped over his eyes, so he could have been splashing in the opposite direction. He'd forgotten that his hair was longer once it got wet...he sort of looked like a drowned rat, with his hair hanging three quarters of the way down his face. He shook his head to try and move the hair out of his eyes and looked around, noticing that while he had splashed in her direction, he probably didn't hit her with much water. He huffed out a breath and made a face. "Apparently the water likes you better," he joked. He was thinking about her earlier comment though...she'd put up with anything he could throw at her? He could think of quite a few things that she wouldn't want to put up with, namely him getting himself killed once she left. Is that why she had been bolder? To try and keep him here? And was it working? He found himself struggling to answer that question. Death did seem appealing, but it was admittedly less appealing than two days prior. Anya pushed away from him when he threw a little water her way, trying to avoid it. She gave a slight snicker before shaking her head, going back towards where they got in and pulling herself up before sitting on the edge with her legs in the water, starting to feel the coolness of the water a little. "No, the water doesn't like me more at all, your hair is just a bit long." She giggled slightly before beckoning him over. "Come here." She chuckled before kicking some of the water playfully.

Sage chuckled lightly and shook his head, amused, before cocking his head slightly and swimming over to her. He wondered what she wanted him to come over for...she'd never actually said that before. He had no idea what she wanted, and while he trusted her to be perfectly fine with it, he was pretty curious. He dodged the water splashes that her feet had sent and when he got closer he reached up and flicked a few drops back at her with a grin.

She gave a teasingly offended look before reaching down and slipping a finger under his chin and tilting it up slightly, looking over his hair with a slight pout before letting go again. "Let me sort your hair out so you can actually see." She chuckled softly. She had seen him try and sort it out, but she had almost cringed at the efforts. The girl grinned before reaching down and slicking it out the way. (Kinda short lol)

(lol it's all good) Sage giggled, a light blush spreading over his cheeks when she tilted his chin up. He wasn't sure why...she was doing nothing more than getting a better look at his hair. Maybe he just blushes whenever she touches him because he enjoyed a light touch instead of someone hurting him. Or maybe it was just because he liked her. Though, just liking her didn't cut it, he knew that. He gave her a crooked grin as she messed with his hair, keeping his head tilted up in the position she had moved it to. "My hair has a mind of its own. Good luck with that," he told her in an amused tone.
