Lance raised his brows in concern "What?!" He yelped "What happened?" He asked. Max thought for a moment... she didn't really remember much... she remembered pain... then seeing Charlie... the rest... well the rest was a blur until she woke up. "I don't remember much honestly... I don't think Sage does either... not the medical terms anyways..." She admitted "I see... but you're alright now?" He asked "I am..." She assured "And I don't think any damage was done..." She assured "Perhaps we'll give you a grandson..." She chuckled glancing at Sage and nodding in agreement "It was scary for sure though..." She admitted.

Sage nodded with a frown. "It was earlier than anyone had thought it would happen. I'd been enlisted for the past three months," He explained. "We were at home, she went to get a drink, and little Charlie decided she wanted to pop out right then and there." He sat back in his chair, leaning it backwards as per usual and shaking his head slightly. "It was scary for sure, but it all ended up alright." He chuckled slightly at Max's comment...at least if she got pregnant again she wouldn't freak out too much. But really, he was heasitant on doing that...if it happened again they may not be so lucky.

Lance nodded "I'm glad you're both alright..." he said gently smiling at the two of them "I'm just sorry you had to go through it alone..." he admitted "It's fine dad... I just hope maybe now you see my side of things? And see that I'm okay... I'm amazing in fact..." She admitted. Lance gave a nod "I do see that..." he assured her "I don't want to miss out on a second more of it." He said firmly.

Sage smiled over at Lance, glad the man was able to wrap his head around their side of things. The other opinion. He nodded and chuckled slightly. "Well, we don't plan on leaving you out," he told the man happily. Lance seemed genuine, and Max was happy...so of course he was happy too. Maybe Mary would come around eventually, though he was wary of hoping for anything.

Lance was happy too hear that as he played with his granddaughter. After lunch the 4 of them headed back home though Lance stopped at a toy shop to grab another plushie for Charlie "I know you don't have much space but I want her to have something from her grandpa." He smiled handing Charlie the little fawn plushie he'd gotten for her that was just a little bigger then her hand.

Sage chuckled and thanked the man as Charlie grabbed the plushie with a happy coo and kicked her legs around, giggling in his arms. "I think thats acceptable," he hummed, making a joke aimed at Max's father. He was pretty comfortable with Lance now, and with that came the awful jokes, which he'd have to put up with, the same as Max.

Lance laughed at that and watched as Charlie shoved the little toy into her mouth. When they arrived home he sent Max inside and sat outside to talk with Sage "I'm glad she found you Sage... thank you for taking such great care of my daughter and my granddaughter." He smiled. "But let me give you some advice... take the opportunities you're given because you may not have them again life can be... terrifying... but that doesn't mean you shouldn't live it and love the life you're given, don't let fear of failure or fear of something bad happening make your choices for you." He advised "That's what I did and my daughter didn't speak or seek out her family for four years..." he told him with a firm nod.

Sage followed Lace outside willingly and sat down on the front step with the man. He listened to him, and what he said did make sense. He looked over at Lance with a slightly cocked head while he spoke and then looked over into the sky and nodded slowly. "I've learned to deal with terrifying situations, for sure," he laughed dryly, thinking about his parents, and Death, and everything that's happened. "Max had spunk. She's helped me out as much as I've helped her," he mused, before looking over at Lance. "Sometimes taking the leap is the only way to live. That's what I've come to." He sighed slightly and shrugged. "I'll just have to keep you in the back of my pocket, hm? Call you any time I have a question about any of...this," he chuckled, gesturing to the house and his little family.

Lance chuckled "Sometimes the way we deal with things changes when we have a family to look after." He told him with a smile nodding happily "I know I'm proud of you both..." he assured nodding in agreement before he laughed "I'm far to big for your pocket sorry." He snickered before he nodded "Anything either of you need... do let me know." He told him.

Sage chuckled and nodded. "I've figured that one out," he chuckled. "Nearly cost me my head but it worked." He chuckled at Lances attempt at a joke and then nodded at his next comment. "Being separate from you and Mary was ...hard...on Max. I'm glad you decided to chose her," he told the man, giving him a small smile. Then he grinned wider. "And feel free to knock me back to reality if I need it...max does the same thing so no way would she mind," he laughed, shaking his head slightly. "Lord knows I need it sometimes," he muttered.
