Mari smiled softly to him after a moment when he came in, kind of going to peck his cheek softly. He just seemed so tense... she didn't want him to be upset with her at all. "It's okay," she murmured to him as she walked past to her to her seat, kind of keeping an eye on the baby to ensure he was happy on the couch. She'd get the kids old cribs out and set him up somewhere comfy. She didn't like it, but she didn't want the poor thing to be uncomfortable... he'd done nothing wrong, so she didn't want to punish him or Sage. If the kid was hers she'd want to look after it too.

Sage offered Mari a soft smile in response to her peck and hum. He did relax a little bit, figuring that she'd been sincere in the comment. She was a kind person....she wasn't one to hate the kid just because he'd come from another woman. Especially when this other woman hadn't been someone he'd even wanted to be around. It was just...an odd situation, he supposed. FOr everyone. Well, the kids wouldn't know the whole story, but still. He did try to put it out of his mind for dinner though.

The girl ate quickly before going to clear everything up and heading up stairs to pull the old crib out. She didn't like this much, but she loved Sage... and wanted to make him happy. As happy as she could. And if this made him feel better, then so be it. She pulled it down the stairs and set it up so that the baby was in the corner of the living room... she didn't want him waking the kids up at night, but she was a sure if they were listening then she and Sage would wake up to see to him. She kind of wrapped a clean blanket around him and swaddled him up before setting him back down.

Sage sort of took a bit of time to eat... He wanted to help Mari, but she seemed to have it all handled, and the kids wanted to talk, so he did that. It helped him relax a bit anyway. So he did that for a bit while Mari set up the crib and they all finished eating. Once they were all done, he moved to clean up plates and start washing up, and then moved over to wrap his arms around Maris waist and rest his chin lightly on her shoulder with a light sigh.

Mari looked over at Sage after a moment hen he came over, and sort of waved the kids off to their rooms to get ready for bed. She sort of leaned back a little bit into him and gave a small sigh. "You okay," she asked softly before tuning around to wrap her arms around him again. This was scary... she didn't know how the woman knew where they lived. It scared her, far too much. Her children lived here... and he husband. If she came back for the baby it did terrify her.

Sage sort of just hummed lightly, wrapping his arms around her when she moved to hug him. "I don't know," he admitted softly, sort of burying his head in the crook of her neck. "That was a rather big surprise I definitely did not expect," he half grumbled half sighed, moving to peer over at the baby, who was still sleeping peacefully. "It's not my kid but...it is." His face twisted slightly and he shook his head. "I don't know what to do. Keeping him isn't exactly ideal but I can't just toss him out without feeling like a horrible person," he groaned. "I feel bad enough about the whole situation without finding out there's a whole kid out of the deal that's now out problem."

Mari let his arms around her and let out a heavy breath. "It's definitely a surprise," she mused softly to him before shrugging and moving to peck his cheek. "Look, we don't have to feel bad about turning him out, because we're not going to hun. Don't even worry about it. He's your kid... so nothing is found to happen, Kay?" She tried to reassure him... he didn't need to feel bad about antrhing. She didn't like any of this, but equally it was Sages kid. She didn't want to do anything that would hurt him

Sage sort of just sighed in agreement with her comment, humming softly in response to her promise about not turning it away. "I know," he sighed. "but we're not exactly ready for another kid," he pointed out. "I mean....we have a crib and things, but everything's been sold to stored away. We don't even have a name for him," he huffed. It was all just confusing....the kid brought back so many bad memories, but it wasn't his fault, and he wanted to care for him. But he also wanted nothing to do with him. It was odd. "If you don't want him here, I'm not going to be upset with you," he pointed out, knowing she wasn't thrilled with the idea. "I just don't know what to do besides try and take care of him," he sighed heavily.

Mari gave a small sigh and sort of pulled away. "Well we weren't expecting another kid," she mused to him lightly before pinching her brows together. "No, Sage... I don't really want him here. But none of this is his fault and well... he's your kid. I love you, and if he has even a little by of you in there then I want him to be safe," she murmured to him before pecking his lips. "All we can do it take care of him, so that is all we will do," she then added before starting to look back at the kid. "We can get him everything he needs. That includes a name, if you can think of one," she added with a small chuckle.

Sage sort of sighed in response to her comment and then gave her a tight lipped smile. "I don't even know if I really want him here," he admitted. 'its confusing," he added with a quiet sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose tiredly. He nodded when she explained why she was willing to care for the baby and pecked her head lightly. "We'll make do," he promised softly. "I just don't want to let him down," he murmured after a moment or so, gazing back softly at the little guy, who was still sleeping peacefully. He was still his father....and if his mother had dumped him and left, sage couldn't exactly do the same. He'd feel awful bout it the rest of his life. "I'll think of something," he mused. "But for now, can we go to bed," he pleaded. "I feel like my brain hasn't stopped spinning since I came back to the house," he groaned, thankful he still had those pills to help him sleep.
