Max was happy watching the three of them Of course she missed her mother but she'd made her choice. "I am too." Lance said with a smile "Maybe we could go out to lunch in a bit?" He suggested "We could chat and I could hear more about what my daughter has been up to and learn about my son in law?" He offered.

Sage glanced over at Max before nodding and answering for the both of them. "That would be nice. We're pretty flexible, so it doesn't really matter when we do it." He was glad about this ...he wished her mother had stayed too but at least Lance had stayed and given them a second chance.

Lance smiled and gave a nod. He went outside and told Mary to go ahead and head back to the hotel and that he'd meet her later. After about three hours he took them out to a restaurant within walking distance "So tell me about you Sage." He smiled as they sat in a booth.

Sage thought about Lances question for a moment before shrugging. "I have a pretty complicated past," he chuckled sheepishly. "You're gonna have to ask some more specific questions," he told the man. He didn't mind telling Lance about him....if he was his father in law he deserved that. But...he didn't really know where to start.

"Well... What about your folks?" He asked "What happened to them?" He asked curiously "If you don't mind my asking..." he said hesitantly before he took a sip of water.

Sage shrugged when Lance asked his question. "I'm not sure where they're at, and I don't particularly want to find out," he admitted. "They were more of the...hit him upside the head rather than care for him type of people." He shrugged again, sipping at his drink. "I never spent much time at home...which is why Max first met me on the streets." He chuckled slightly at the memory, though of course the topic of his parents wasn't a very light one.

"Ah I see." He replied with a nod "So until you two found each other you were on the street? I'm sorry. I'm glad you found each other then." He chuckled happily "Yeah it was kinda something out of cinderella... I dropped my sketchbook after he saved my life and he returned it and the rest just fell into place I guess..." She shrugged.

Sage chuckled slightly and nodded. "Its all seems so crazy...normally my luck is awful but somehow things all worked out." He shrugged. "When we first met I told you Max helped me out with something...well that something just so happened to be quite literally saving my life." He gave Max a grin after that. "We've had a crazy time, I can say that."
|
| |
|
|
|
"Oh really?" He chuckled "What a whirlwind!" He chuckled "Bet you were thrown into another whirlwind when you found out you were gonna be parents after all that." He admitted. Max giggled "Yeah it was a whirlwind but it's all been worth it... I'd do it all all over again." She admitted.

Sage chuckled and nodded. "We've had some rough times, but it's all worked out." He grinned over at Max lovingly and nodded in response to her comment. "Me too. Though, I could do without the whole you almost dying in labor part. That was definitely something that should be skipped if he have another one."
