"Nailed it. Those are my priorities, in that exact order." Trixie joked, moving her hands so he could get a glass. She watched him the whole time, tilting her head slightly. She smiled as he settled his hands on her waist again, wrapping one arm around him to continue to toy with his hair, threading her fingers through it. "Oh, yours will do fine. You did get me surprisingly thirsty though, I'm impressed." She teased, using her other hand to grab the glass he had just filled and take a sip before she set it back down. After, she laid her hand gently on his shoulder, running her fingers absentmindedly over the fabric of his shirt as she held his gaze. She leaned forward and placed a light kiss on his cheek, leaning into him slightly. "Maybe your room would be a better place to talk, seeing as there's a psychopath just wandering somewhere around down here." She teased, lowering her voice only slightly as she settled into the crook of his neck.

"Likewise" he said, his tone quiet. Matt slid the glass out of Trixies reach after she set it down jokingly, focusing his attention right back onto her. He listened to her speak, unable to tear his gaze away from hers. She looked and sounded so captivating, so much so it was hard for him to think up the right words to reply, and all he could think about then was the most recent past events they had both taken part in, rather than the conversation at hand. He looked away from her for a split second to grab his drink, only then was his mind deciding to co operate enough to speak. "If that'll make it easier for you to get to know me..then sure" he said, his voice almost a whisper as she leant in. It took him a couple seconds to actually pull himself off the stool and away from Trixies gaze, heading to the bottom of the stairs, waiting there for her to follow.

"It might." Trixie answered softly, not paying much attention to the words coming out of her mouth. She was more focused on him, his somewhat... captivated expression, and it took her a few moments after he moved to follow him. She brushed past him and made her way up the stairs, pausing to wait for him once she reached the top.

Matt could only be grateful he had dodged Layla as they both entered his room, and he shut the door promptly after setting foot in there, turning to look at Trixie. He made his way over to the bed and sat himself down, pretty much pulling her down with him. "so what exactly are we meant to talk about?" he asked, his tone playful.

Trixie chuckled as she got gently pulled down to sit with him. She shrugged, glancing around and then moving past him to lay down, slightly curled up, with her head on the pillows. "Anything. I want to get to know you. Like- what do you want to do with your life?" She asked lightly, shooting off one of the first questions she could find. It was hard to tell which side of the bed was his since he obviously hadnt been sleeping there long, but she tried her best, making sure to leave a very open space beside her for him.

Matt shrugged lightly, his hand instinctively reaching to stroke her hair, though that wasn't something he had ever thought to do to a girl. Still, he didn't think much of it. "questions like that are hard to answer when you're stuck in another country really. if i was at home i would have just had to take my dads business over, here it's completely different so im not sure, yet. what about you?" he asked, looking down at Trixie with a smile as he spoke. He wasn't lying- he had no clue what he was supposed to do here in America. He was half glad, he wasn't being forced to take over a business, but at the same time it left a slightly empty feeling.

Trixie took in a small breath as he went to stroke her hair, slowly releasing it as he started to do so. She leaned into the feeling, relaxing into his hand and closing her eyes for a moment. "I guess it is, yeah. Well, I'm in school to be a vet right now. I've always really liked animals, it never really occurred to me to do something else. Now it's your turn, ask me any question." She said softly, speaking a little slowly. It was only then that she opened her eyes, searching his slightly. Edited at October 29, 2023 10:10 PM by Widow Valley Farms

Matt listened to Trixie talk, feeling almost pulled in by her voice. When they weren't stuck in a fairly loud coffee shop or a car with a big movie screen in front of them, it was incredibly relaxing. "Right, and is that actually any fun?" he asked, his tone that of genuine interest. He thought for a second, unable to fully cook up any interesting questions for. a little while. "Okay...Who do you live with? Family, friends. Alone?" he asked, smiling down at Trixie as he spoke.

Trixie laid her hand gently on his arm, sliding it up until she reached his elbow and gave him a gentle pull, wordlessly asking him to lay down. She gave him a light smile and shrugged. "School? No. But it's something I care about, even if it is a little hard at times. I think when I'm through with it, it'll be worth it. I hope so, at least." She shrugged. She gave a little sigh at his question. "Right now I live with my mother, father, and sixteen year old brother. Don't think I'm weird, I'm not broke or too lazy to move out, it's just that I need a place to stay while I find an apartment with agreeable rent. I'd prefer to not be the girl that says, 'Oh, we can't go back to mine, my parent's are home', but I don't have a lot of... options right now." She shrugged, tilting her head farther into his hand. "Anyway. Who does your family consist of? Do you have siblings or anything?" She asked lightly.

Matt carried on stroking her hair as she spoke, his gaze blurring slightly as he zoned out pretty much to the sound of her voice. "I can't imagine it's too interesting as of now, but then again i know absolutely nothing about..vets. Or vet school and stuff" he smiled, then being quiet to listen to her carry on talking. "Well you're lucky you can come here then aren't you" he joked, shifting himself slightly. "Do you have any idea when you'll find an apartment though? I can't imagine it's all that easy" he asked, resting his head back against the headboard. "My dad, and my little sister. They were who I lived with anyway. I haven't actually seen them since before the accident, so I have no idea if my mothers come back yet." he said, intending on giving zero context.
