Regan nodded slowly, though it wasn't like he could see it. "You don't have to do any of it, though," she whispered quietly, looking down. "You don't have to do those things to be my friend... and you certainly don't have to be my friend and do that. I just want you," she told him after a few moments. She could definitely appreciate his little laugh. It was light and up-beat. It was a different tone to the thoughts she was having in her own head. That she could make him laugh. It was nice. "Why is it a surprise? I like you, and I like talking to you, too," she told him with a small smile.

Yeah, Tyler was surprised. He never really believed that he was a great friend... he usually didn't know what to say, he was all muscle no brain, he sometimes said hurtful things without meaning to... but what Regan was saying couldn't be true, right? His brain plodded in a couple circles before collapsing again, which was normal. "I can certainly appreciate that... and I will always be here. No matter where you go, who you actually want to be with, or what you feel like." Tyler half joked, though he really meant the first part. He would always be by Regan... helping her, teasing her, pulling her into trees, it really didn't matter. "It's a surprise because no other person in the world has ever liked talking to me, and I know I'm not the best talker." Tyler chuckled, a small smile on his face

Regan couldn't help her small smile as it grew across her gave. She ran her thumb over his hand before gently letting go of it. She loved him the way he was... he was the best friend you'd ever need out here, and although she knew he didn't believe it, or her, she really thought he was so, incredibly amazing, and loving and sweet, far sweeter than he'd ever care to let on. "I know you'll always be here, Tyler. I'll be here too, always," she promised gently. She smiled again at his next comment before shaking her head once more. "I know you're not the best talker," she mused softly. "But you're interesting, and you make for a good thing to fill a void. I mean it, you're wonderful," she promised to him happily.

Tyler let his arm drop back to his side. It was probably good she let go, because it had started to fall asleep. It really did please him that someone may actually *need* him. Not that Regan actually needed him, but at least she did look at him as a fellow human being/slash friend instead of a demon... most people took one look and thought he was some kind of weird introverted hermit that hated people. Yes, he was an introvert. Yes, people weren't his favorite... but that was only because they were so mean to him. Before his life got almost ruined by some mean teenagers he really was a nice guy that enjoyed talking to people. "I am interesting, that's for sure." Tyler gave a short laugh, thinking of how many things that could mean. He knew Regan meant well, though. Her words really did warm his heart and make him happy. "I'm glad that I can help in some way." Tyler said quietly, his eyes glittering

Regan smiled gently to him before rolling over to look at him. "You're very interesting... in a good way. I like talking to you," she told him with a happy smile. She really did, too... she enjoyed being around him. She enjoyed their walks, their conversations, everything about him. He was a good friend, and while she complained that she couldn't have anyone to talk to... she wouldn't change him for the world. She would never want to change him. "You know, you always help. Even if it's just by being here. I don't say it enough, but I am really grateful to you... I always am," she told him with a bit of a smile. She knew he struggled with people... but he could have left her do bleed out when they'd met. Turned her away. But, no... for some reason, she couldn't wrap her head around, he was still beside her. Still tending to her every whim. And she couldn't be more pleased.

Tyler decided to just accept the compliment. "Thanks Regan... that really does mean a lot to me." He said quietly, staring out at the green treetops. When she spoke again he made a face, chuckling. "So me just... being here is helpful? Wow, I must have superpowers then." He snorted, his voice sounding sarcastic. Tyler's eyes glinted as he glanced up at Regan, smiling. "You have given me way too many compliments to comprehend." he joked. "You do know that you are also an amazing person, and the only reason I stay is because you are kind and funny and awesome to be around, right?" Tyler asked with a grin, knowing she really was the only reason he stuck around... so that was half a joke

Regan chuckled to him before shaking her head lightly. "Well, it's all true," she told him lightly. When he asked a question, though, she grinned lightly at him. "Well, I suppose you must have superpowers because you really are very helpful," she chirped happily to him, her eyes bright before turning over again, back onto her back. She grinned when he said she'd given him too many compliments, kind of shrugging absentmindedly. She'd gotten used to handing out praise for people's attention, but she really did mean it with Tyler... it made her so, incredibly happy that she could say things so true about him. She could only smile when he said why he was wanting to stay.

"impressive. Me, helpful. What an interesting feeling." Tyler mused, not really used to all this. Who ever gave him compliments? Regan, Regan, and... Regan. Even she didn't give this many without throwing a tease in the middle. Tyler watched her for a moment before smiling again and turning his gaze to the ground. The people were coming back... right in time for supper. He got a little worried, now. Would they get angry if Regan made them nothing? Eh, Tyler would just bash em in the head and leave. No problem... right?

Regan chuckled lightly to him before shaking her head. "How do you feel... useful?" She mused softly to him. She was glad she could make him feel good about himself... it was all true, but it made her more than happy that she could finally make him see all of that because she knew he could sometimes be a bit... doubtful of himself. She thought he was an amazing person... in every way she possibly could. She could see people coming back now, and she was admittedly a bit nervous as to what they'd think... it was about dinner time at the moment, so they'd be expecting food... but she would have to hold out. After all, what would they do if she was up in the tree?

Tyler muttered something under his breath, watching the people with narrowed black eyes that looked like they had storm clouds in them. He sat more upright against the truck and almost disappared into the dark bark... the only thing that still stood out was his lighter colored skin. Tyler was tanned, but he was still *white* so it was hard to blend in completely. He just watched the people silently, seeing them looking around. One called to another and they started searching the campsite, not looking angry... looking confused.
