I think the main thing is to know what your goal is, and what paths you can take to get there; that can be very different depending on what you want to do! I've been through both a very academically demanding engineering program at a huge school, where you needed top test scores to even get in the door, and an art program at a tiny college that couldn't care less if you know how to count from 1-10, haha; the best approach is heavily dependent on where you want to go and what you want to do long-term.

Red, dang, even my high school only had 88 people in my grade lol
I loved loved the college I went to. I loved doing field work and hands on things like radio collaring possums and raising armadillos. If I could just do that I would - told my biology professor when he retires I want his place because he’s the fun one

@Gladius, it's only beneficial if you can get a job out of it.

I also had a horrid high school experience and chose not to go to college or do any further education. I still have a government job that required no experience and make over $30/hr. You don't need to go to college to be successful, it isn't for everyone and that is ok

@Gladius, exactly. I went to college because the careers I was interested in required a degree, but doing all those GEs and learning the exact same things I was taught in high school was a joke. Not to mention the way colleges are ran. Professors have no responsibility and the schools can do whatever they want and get away with it. At least in my state.

To be the benefit of college is the learning (agree with Fang on the benefit of small class sizes too) and the proof of committing to something long term

Wow that’s crazy. I don’t think we even have any unis in Aus that are that small. I think most of my classes are 2000+ students but they’re spilt up into 7 groups of 150-200 so it’s easier to not feel unimportant

Bird - yeah, there's definitely an inflation of the value of a degree these days. Trade schools are where the money is honestly. We always need the people who build infrastructure

Red, I’m glad to hear it <3 that’s definitely something to be proud of

I went to a small (500 or less student) private college that was highly focused and motivated on small classes and such, rather than large classes and 10,000 people were you just few like a small speck of dirt and I think that was good for me personally. I even had a few classes of under a dozen students.

Fang <3 ty :) my last year of HS was very rough, I was going to drop out. 3 degrees later I’m doing very well :)

I dont think university is a waste of time but I will agree that its harder to count on a degree to get a job, hence why I am getting a masters

Ps get degrees, 4s open doors. You don’t have to get the best grades once you’re in uni, do as well as you can and as long as you pass you’ll get to where you wanna be. I have a GPA of 4.65 ( terrible in Aus ) but I’m passing and set to graduate next year ;)

College for me was learning that the system sucks and is usually a waste of time with GEs and stupid degrees that don't get you a job.

My school required us to take the SAT and I think my sister's required them to take both the SAT and ACT. We ended up going to the same college (albeit different programs) but those scores barely mattered for admittance. It depends a lot on what you're hoping to do in terms of college, so do your best, but also remember that the ACT isn't the sole deciding factor in your future in the grand scheme of things.

Yeah, it depends a lot on the school and major as far as how big a deal it is. Some places are really demanding on test scores, some don't care at all, and there's a whole spectrum in between

college for me was all about learning that I will never again be that straight A honors kid I was in hs.

And that's okay. in college you learn that really, you're just kind of average. Putting in the work matters a lot more than hs test scores or intelligence

I really don't know to pair with this WWE straw. Just paired him with a nice EEW mare that was strong in jumping since he was weak in that, got a PPP rated colt😩

Sage nodded with a shrug, gobbling down the rest of the vine. He ate a lot, he supposed, especially while he was healing. He wasn't full per se, but he wasn't hungry either...it was a kind of odd medium. But that was alright, he supposed. "It was pretty good. I'd eat it more as a snack, not a full meal, but it was good," he chirped. Then hr grinned with a kind of sheepish chuckle. "The carnivore in me likes meat more," he half joked.

Quinn chuckled. "Oh... meat better, eh? Maybe I just know you too well then." She smiled, standing up. Quinn disappeared outside for a moment, then came back in with some prime cooked meat. She handed it to Sage with a grin. "Tada."

Sage chuckled lightly and shrugged. "It's not like I'm super unpredictable," he mused. "And you are my wife, you should know me relitively well," he pointed out in a rather amused manner. He let out a delighted whine when she handed the meant to him, and tucked into it happily.

"Well... you got shot while we were paying a game. From now on I'm rating everything unpredictable." Quinn snorted, leaning back against the wall and putting one knee up, resting her arm on it. "I've only known you for A MONTH AND A HALF so knowing you well... isn't really expected yet." Quinn rolled her eyes... but she was obviously joking, and there was an amused tone to her voice.

Sage made a face and shrugged at her first comment. "People try to catch me all the time," he groaned. "It gets annoying," he huffed. Them he have her a grin. "You managed it pretty well though, I'd say," he chirped. They thought similarly...and that probably helped.

They thought WHAT? I wouldn't call their thinking similar XD... naw really I'm just kidding. They do think alike.)

Quinn tipped her head. "Why thank you, I did." She chuckled, settling back down a little more and resting her head against the wall. "I'm glad you liked your meal." Quinn said, glancing over at Sage.

Sage hummed lightly and gave the girl a wide grin. "I'm not picky, but this is better than the stuff the cook at the castle makes," he chuckled. 'i think I still have some of his meatballs clanking around in my stomach somewhere," he snorted in amusement.

Quinn let out a laugh. "Sounds like you are much better off with me." She said, an amused tone thick in her voice. She took out a little extra root she had been saving, chewing it thoughtfully. "So.... what are we going to do today? Sleep, or talk?" Quinn asked, her eyes twinkling. She knew Sage ... would tease her about talking. She wasn't THAT boring to talk to! Who else could figure out exactly how far away a lightning bolt struck usuing a stopwatch Celsius and m/s?

Sage rolled his eyes and shrugged with a light chuckle. "Just a little bit," he admitted, though it was really just a joke. Then he cocked his head and chuckled again. "both sounds reasonable, don't you think," he teased her lightly. Talk, and then sleep was a decent plan, he thought, rather amused by it all.

"I do think." Quinn snorted with a small smile. "Buuut since you are the injured one you get to pick the conversation. Have fun!" Quinn
put her hands behind her head and sighed contendely.
