Anya covered her arm with a slightly and gave him an offended joking look. A light blush crossed her face when he mentioned her little flirty tone. She hadn't meant for it to come across like that, but obviously it didn't go quite to plan. "I... was just messing with you. It worked by the looks of things." She squeaked with a chuckle. Maybe it was what she had gone for... subconsciously, perhaps. She tilted her head slightly. "Aw, did you not want a hug? My bad." She cooed jokingly. "Though always thought I was quite good at hugs." She murmured, putting on a mockingly thoughtful look.

Sage snorted in amusement. "You're not getting me to say I enjoyed that," he told her in an amused tone. He wasn't sure if that's what she was going for, but he could tease her about it all the same. If it was their last night together, he supposed they could lighten up and have some fun. And if she wanted to flirt, he was perfectly fine with it. He quite liked the fact that someone liked him.

The girl wrinkled her nose teasingly. "That's fair, but I did," she murmured before giving a sly smirk. "And I know you liked it too, even if I can't get you to admit it," she cooed with a grin. "And I now know that you're ticklish... I can use that." The girl teased lightly. It was nice being able to joke like this... especially considering they had been so awkward before. She could dish out and take the banter and flirting without flushing up and going quiet, which was pretty refreshing. Saying that, it didn't mean she didn't have a bright red over her cheeks... she just wasn't letting it get to her now. Edited at September 1, 2022 08:13 AM by Belle

Sage snorted, denying the fact that he was actually touch starved and really enjoyed her hug, and even the teasing, even if it did mean he was blushing horribly. He found himself gradually rising a bit above some of the fog that was in his brain, and the more he joked around with Anya, the more it was actually genuine happiness instead of an act.

Anya snickered at his little snort before looking out to the lake for a moment. As nice as it was just being with him, she wanted to go do something. Though, she wasn't sure what exactly. They could stay here and mess around for a while, she supposed, but she was worried that when they ran out of conversation things would get awkward again. She looked at Sage for a moment, thinking about how quickly things had changed. She had thought she had started to forget about him while they were apart... that she just didn't care... but the moment she saw him again, everything came back. Maybe even stronger than before. They were out again now, but this was just for the one night, which was probably why she could afford to be so brave with what she said. She sort of wished she had been bolder with him when they had first started going out at nights, but by doing that, things would have most likely gone a lot further than they could have afforded.

Sage stared out over the water for a few minutes before turning to Anya again. "Why don't we go walk around and figure out what to do before we freeze?" He stood up and offered her a hand to help her up, a slight grin still on his face. He wasn't sure where they were going to go, but he wanted to go do something with her before she dissapeared from his life forever. She was getting bold tonight, and he wanted to enjoy that while he could.

Anya pouted and gave a small nod before taking his hand and pulling herself up. She shouldn't be so cautious to have fun tonight... but she wanted to end things on a happy note. So that she wouldn't forget him. Coming from that, though, she was worried that she wouldn't to leave him again, and she really, really didn't want to go through that again. Whatever. She would just have to get over it. She followed him around for about a minute before cocking her head slightly. "What were you wanting to do? Get some food or something like that?"

Sage chuckled and shrugged. "I dunno. Do something instead of sitting around in the wet snow." He looked over at her and slowed his pace so he was walking next to her. "Anything specific you'd wanna do? I don't care as long as it's enjoyable. I'm tired of sitting around like a lump doing nothing and feeling like shit." He just wanted to have fun, forget that Lizzie was dead. Try to figure his feelings out...he said he wanted to die but then used Anya as an excuse to keep going. Deep down, did he really want to stay here? He didn't know, and it was driving him crazy. (Maybe for their argument Anya figures out he's planning on doing something stupid and dying and they argue over that? Idk it was a sudden thought XD)

(Sounds good! I was struggling to think of something lol.) The girl shook her head slightly. "I didn't really think of anything before coming out." She murmured with a slight chuckle. It was stupid, really. She was the one who asked him to come out with her, and yet, she had nothing planned for the two of them. She knew how hard loosen Lizzie was for him, and he didn't need to tell her. She assumed it was hurting a hell of a lot more than he was letting on... and she admired him for that. Though, she did want him to let it all out a bit... whatever he was thinking about. She let out a small sigh before glancing over at him. What she was going to say next would really bring the mood down... and she knew it would, but she supposed it would be better in the long run. "Sage, are you really alright? About Lizzie?" She lowered her voice a little, knowing he wasn't as fine as he let on. She just wasn't sure quite how bad it was.

Sage inhaled sharply at her question and then shrugged. "I don't know," he muttered. "I don't even know what 'alright' really means." He looked over at the tops of the trees. "I didn't see her get torn open like mom. That's something." He sighed and kicked at a rock on the ground as he walked. "It just stopped hurting after a bit. I don't know whether it's good or bad to go numb," he admitted. Why was he telling her this? He was supposed to help her have a good time out here. Instead he was getting all depressing on her. She had asked, yes, but his burdens weren't something she needed to take on herself.
