woo woo im not sick anymore - Sams eyes fluttered open, breifly noticing that Ellie was by his side and then he slipped back out of conciousness, feeling dizzy. He awoke with a sharp pain in his arm, and hazily saw a doctor type figure giving him a shot. He heard mumrmus, comforting words from Ellie and complicated ones from the doctor. He tried to speak. "whats wrong with me?" he managed to say with much effort. His throat and mouth hurt. His legs hurt. His arms hurt. His belly hurt. Everything was causing him inexplicable amounts of pain. And he had no clue what to do about it.

The doctor seemed to go on about some sort of food poisoning, though she couldn't seem to comprehend everything he was saying. She was handed a packet of Ibuprofen and watched as he gave Sam some fluids just to keep him going. She was reassured that all would be alright and recovery would be days away. Though, she couldn't help but be worried. She was handed medication and was left with a sheet of paper, stating what had been performed and what needed to be picked up from the chemists. She placed them on Sam's side table, thanking the doctor as he left. She looked to see Sam looking up, as though he was fighting to stay awake. Ellie couldn't help but think of how much pain he was in. She could hear it in his voice. "Hey, you're awake." She murmured quietly, "The doctor says you have a bit of food poisoning... Though, you should be feeling a bit better in a few days." Ellie said lightly, her voice soft as can be. "Do you need anything? I need to go to the chemists in a few hours, but I don't particularly want to leave you alone. Do you want me to call your friends over to accompany you?" The girl asked gently, perching herself on the side of the bed.

"im okay, thank you" Sam managed to utter, the injections making him woozy and he soon fell into a dreamless sleep. The next day he awoke in his well lit room, to Ella snuffling about on his duvet. He felt astonishingly better. Sitting up, he realised somebody, probably Ellie, had left a mug of tea on his bedside table. He took it, greatful for the warmth of the cup on his cold fingers. After he had rested for a little while, he managed to get up and walk to the window. He could see Nero grazing out happily with the other horses. He hoped his horse had been OK while he had been sick. He was sure Ellie had taken care of him well.

The day came and went swiftly, Ellie already finding herself down at morning yard. She had sorted Sam out with a small tray of tea and toast, along with a few pills before hand though.
Ellie did her normal jobs, mucking out, grooming, and turning out both her horses along with Nero. Just as she was about to sort the poo pile out, she noticed Sam standing at his window, looking out into the field. You should be in bed. She thought as she swiftly walked over to the small house, knocking on the door before she peeked her head through the door, "Can I come in?"

"sure." Sam said, his throat hurting a little as he said it. As Ellie opened the door, he sat down on the bed, setting down his cup of tea. He remembered somebody saying something aout food poisoning earlier, and he wondered how it happened. Probably that dodge carrot cake he had at that cafe he went to wil Ellie a little while ago. He looked up to see Ellie walking through the door. "hey." he said, with a watery smile. (sorry short!)

(Not a problem!) "Hey," Ellie replied as she leaned against the door frame. "Sam, unless you're better, then you should be in bed," Ellie murmured, her voice firm. She wandered over to the window, opening it up ever so slightly to let air in. "Have you eaten anything? I left some toast out but I wasn't sure if you were hungry or anything." She noted her voice nothing but perturbed. Edited at January 23, 2022 02:53 PM by Belle

"oh, okay." Sam said, a wave of tiredness rushing over him as he climbed back into his warm, cosy bed. Looking over at the side, he realised Ellie had left him the toast she was talking about, and he gladly stuffed his face iwth it, finishing it in just a few seconds. Once he was comfortable propped up on his pillows, he asked Ellie. "hey, what exactly is wrong with me? i heard stuff about food poisoning but its all a blur to be honest." he said, looking at her.

Ellie wandered over the bedside, picking up the now empty plate. "I didn't exactly get the whole gist of it but you passed out in the tack room. Aaron and I got you here before calling a doctor. He told us you had gotten salmonella, from the cheesecake perhaps." Ellie shrugged, her brows furrowing slightly, "I was pretty worried." She murmured before taking the plate to Sam's kitchen and reappearing with a glass of freshwater.

Sam felt a sudden rush of compassion towards Ellie. She had taken care of him and his animals, provided nothing but care and comfort to anybody, and what had he done? sat in bed for 2 days. "thank you." sam said, his eyes full of meaning. "really." he took the water from her and sipped it, the coolness of it feeling amazing on his sore, raw throat. He still felt the inklings of sickness and pain in his stomach but he was feeling so much better allready. "Did i really pass out in the tackroom?" sam said, chuckling at the thought. "im sorry you had to see that" he said laughing.
