Sage cocked his head slightly at the girl's sigh. He wrapped an arm around her gently and used the other to prop his head up a bit. "What's wrong," he asked. "Do you not feel as good?"

Aria looked away and sighed. "No. I'm just upset at myself." The girl said, getting up and walking to the bathroom. She shut the door and looked in the mirror. She needed something to do so she could waste time. The girl got out her spa materials and went to the vanity on the other side of the bathroom. She got mad at herself again and threw everything on the ground angerily. Aria put her back against the wall and slid down to a sitting position, putting her knees to her chest. She crossed her arms and huffed. Edited at May 3, 2023 02:40 PM by Brookfield Stables

Sage frowned slightly when the girl got up abruptly and walked away. She was upset with herself? About what? He picked up Caroline with a sigh, laying back on the bed with her on his chest, and holding her there. Had he done something wrong? Should he be doing something more than what he was doing to help her? He was doing everything he could...but maybe she was rethinking becoming the queen. After all, in a war she'd be a target. Maybe Sage should have gone through with an arranged marriage - at least then she'd be safe somewhere.

Aria calmed herself down, taking deep breaths. She walked back out and ran to Sage, wrapping her arms around him tightly. "You know I have emotional problems sometimes, and I always feel awful when I start breaking down like this. I...I honestly feel better when i'm with you, but I thought about the war and... W-Will you still care about me? Even with all this going on?" She asked, very embarrassed. She felt like a little kid pouting over the silliest things. "I'm sorry!" She said crying into his shoulder. The girl slid back in bed next to him and apologized over and over.

Sage was a bit surprised when she ran over to him but calmly wrapped his arms around her and pressed a light kiss to her head. "Why wouldn't I," he asked. "If anything, it just means you and Caroline are more important to me than anything," he promised her, stroking his hand through her hair. He shook his head. "You don't have to apologize," he murmured softly. "it's alright."

Aria nodded and smiled, wiping her eyes. "Okay." She said in a shaky voice. The girl hugged Sage back comfortingly. She loved being in his arms. "Sorry." She murmured once more.

Sage hummed lightly and squeezed the girl a bit tighter. "It's all right," he murmured. "War is hard on everyone... sometimes you just need a shoulder to cry on." He shrugged lightly.

Aria nodded and grinned weakly. "Thanks." She said, hugging him tighter. He was right. She did need a shoulder to cry on... She needed his. "You promise everything will be okay?" She asked, looking at Caroline, not wanting to lose the little girl. Caroline was sitting up by herself on the bed, chewing on the blankets.

Sage hummed and nodded. "That's what I'm here for," he chirped. "And yes, it'll all be alright," he promised her.

Aria smiled and looked into his eyes happily. She soon fell asleep next to the boy and grabbed his hand gently. It was very soothing.
