| oh boy howdy yes, so many different varieties... that reminds me of the story of the guy in California who saved hundreds of peach varieties because they were getting starved out by the industry's focus on fruit that stays fresh enough to go to markets across the world. it's nuts |

| There's a guy at one of the farmer's markets here who grows/sells a bunch of rare and old apple varieties and there's so many more than what's in the grocery store. The ones in stores are just the easiest ones to mass produce and sell |
