Ajax opened his mouth to respond, but was cut off by her second sentence. "You do know which one of those will come first, right? Do you really want me to turn to stone?" He inquired sulkily, grinning. "I don't want to turn to stone, ya know. So, like, we may possibly have to get up someday in the of course far furture so that I DON'T turn to stone? Plus I'm sure you won't be able to sit here for more than 10 more hours without getting waaay too bored." Ajax pointed out slowly, his eyebrows lifting. "And um er erm if we don't move soon it'll be lunctime and I can't miss lunch... also you had that thing you didn't want me to go to then did want me to go to then made me really confused about going to? And we shouldn't miss that, right? We or you, whatever you actually decided on." He said, then continued. "Super also if we actually do stay here I'm going to fall asleep, not give cuddles. Bada bing bada boom and I'll be out like a light." Ajax stated with a sly smile. Edited at November 29, 2023 10:58 AM by Wild West Warmbloods

"It's not that hard, you stubborn mule." Mercy huffed, sitting up and glaring at him. She removed her arms from around him and slid away until she wasn't touching him at all. "All I asked for was a little bit of cuddling- it's really not that hard." She muttered, giving a sigh and glaring out the nearest window. She let him finish speaking completely before she spoke again, her affectionate mood having been spoiled. "It's not even 10 in the morning yet." She said simply. "Well, great, why don't you take a nap, then?" She asked sarcastically, tilting her head so her flat stare settled on him instead.

Ajax winced as he realized he had gotten Mercy to snap. +Well, that wasn't exactly intended+ He thought, his eyebrows lifting slightly as she rambled on. Ajax waited as she finished, blinking slightly as he thought of a sane way to reply. "Okay okay, you're right. It's not that hard, it's not even ten in the morning, and I won't take a nap." He stated, looking back at her with a pitiful glance. "I'm sorry for ever suggesting anything and will sit here obendiantly for the rest of however long you want." Ajax said just as flatly as Mercy's stare looked, running a hand through his hair. "I can say more, if you want." He finally offered with a small grin,

Mercy still didn't seem very amused. "I don't want to be right. I want cuddles." She glared at him as he continued to speak, promptly standing and walking to the fridge to get a water bottle. "Sure, if you want to." She said flatly, walking to the window and staring out blandly as she sipped at the water in her hands.

Ajax finally tilted his head and sighed. "Okay, I failed." He said quietly, standing off the couch and walking over. "I'll be right back." Ajax commented, turning and walking out the door. He felt like slamming his head into a tree but he didn't, walking to the small shed where he kept his axes. He picked up one and fingered the sharp edge, groaning a little. "Helpful, Ajax." He mumbled, wiping the axe with a clean rag and putting it away.

Mercy leaned her shoulder gently against the window, staring outside quietly as he walked off. She turned to watch him pass through the doorframe, laying her bottle on the counter and curling her arms around herself. Now that he wasn't by her, she felt unreasonably cold. In general, she was in a swampy mood.

Ajax finally resigned himself to having absolutely no knowledge on what to do in this situation. He wanted to go his own way and just punch things, but that never seemed to end well and for how old he actually was it seemed a bit... hm.. inmature. With that in mind, Ajax went to the punching bag he had hung up and started, well, punching it. When his anger had depledted the tiniest bit, although he was not even close to being worn out, Ajax stopped. Well, for another reason, he hadn't wrapped his hands or put on any sort of mit so his knuckles were bloody. It came with forgetting to put on a wrap. After seeing that he remembered that Mercy didn't like seeing blood without wanting to heal it, so he wiped it up the best he could and wrapped it in gauze. "Problem solved." He smiled slightly, steeling up his courage to walk back out of the tiny shed and into the cabin again.

Mercy waited quietly in the cabin, sulking and being her pouty self for a little bit. She started to worry the longer he stayed out, about to go out and see what he was doing when he walked back in. She walked up to him, tilting her head at his wrapped knuckles. "Honey, what did you do?" She asked softly, gently lifting his hand and frowning down at it.

Ajax winced a little as the first thing Mercy said was asking about his wrapped hands. "Ummm... well... they're not neccesarily hurt I just didn't want dirt to get in the very extremely tiny wounds that stopped bleeding as soon as I wrapped them up." He answered truthfully, but in a underexaggerated way. "I blew off steam, rather than out my ears I tried a different tactic." Ajax added with a slight snort, glancing at Mercy.

Mercy looked up and gave him the most disbelieving stare possible. "Mmmhm." She nodded sarcastically, running her thumb gently over the ridges of his knuckles through the bandage. "Why did you need to blow out steam?" She asked lightly, stepping closer and laying her forehead against his chest while she looked down at his hand, both of her own cupped around it.
