Regan followed him back, her heart thumping roughly in her chest. She kept a hold of him, though, almost kind of scared to let his shirt go. When they got back, she was sitting cracking her knuckles, tapping her foot to the ground and biting the inside of her lip for a solid ten minutes before finally looking over to Tyler, having to swallow the lump in her throat. "We can't stay here," she whispered, the side of her lip now seeping blood from where she'd been biting down on it.

Tyler raised his head as Regan spoke. "I- I know." He muttered. Tyler was fine with leaving but it made his heart ache to think about how Regan liked to talk to other people. He just wasn't the most social person, and although he did try with Regan... she needed more. "We could... go back to the cabin until we find someone else..." Tyler offered quietly, his eyes sad

Regan felt a lump form in her throat at the look on his face. She wandered over to sit down next to him, and just kind of leaned on him. "What if they find us," she whispered. "Then we'll have nobody," she muttered, still fiddling with her fingers. It was awful here... she thought the people here were good... friendly. She thought that most of them were safe. They'd have to act normal. If someone had spotted them leaning, then what? Or figured out that they'd seeen... she didn't want that to happen to her, and she certainly didn't want that to happen to Tyler. "I don't know what to do," she eventually murmured. Her face screwed with fear.

"Oh Regan, they won't. They don't care about... mostly me, and I'm sure they will be happy if I leave. I will make sure none of them hurt you, and we can find someone else that actually cares." Tyler said quietly, putting an arm around Regan. "Well I do know what to do, you just have to decide when we go." Tyler murmured, his eyes flashing with a small look of anger.

When he went to wrap an arm around her side, she moved to gently entwine her fingers with his, her chin wobbling ever so slightly. "But I don't want anything happening to you, either," she whispered. She didn't trust that they wouldn't do anything to hurt them... and it terrified her. She nodded slowly to him before letting out a heavy breath. "Tomorrow... I can't make myself look forwards today," she whispered softly to him.

"Nothing is going to happen to me. If they try to come after us I will smash their faces in with a mallet, so you have nothing to worry about," Tyler offered a comforting smile before thinking about what he said, realizing it may not have been the most helpful sentence in the world. "We leave tomorrow, then." Tyler confirmed, glancing up at the tree and thanking the Lord none of these idiots were as tall as him... so they couldn't get up into the tree.

Regan shot him a bit of a glare at his last comment, wrapping her arms around herself quietly. She felt awful... it had been her idea to come here, had it not? To these people? What would have happened if they hadn't seen... would they have ended up like that? God, she'd really hate herself if anything had happened to Tyler just because she wanted someone to talk to. "I'm sorry," she eventually murmured to him, biting down on the inside of her lip once again.

-Yeah, it wasn't helpful- Tyler confirmed that with Regan's glare, wincing slightly and looking back at the trees. When she spoke again he looked a little confused. "Why are you sorry? You did nothing wrong, in fact, all you have been doing is everything right. You don't have anything to be sorry for." Tyler asked, his voice fading into more of a firm command at the end. Tyler didn't know why Regan was sorry... and he didn't really understand it, either. He really didn't understand human emotions, especially ... female human emotions. They tended to be different, and since Tyler was just starting to show emotion of his own, it was hard.

Regan just let out a sigh, forcing herself to stop chewing on her lips before looking up at him, her brows furrowed. Why was she sorry? Well, that seemed obvious, did it not? "Well... you didn't want to come here. If something had happened, if either of us had gotten hurt, it would be my fault," she told him quietly. The guy... Neil, was it? He was still just sitting there, and it was freaking her out a little bit. She knew Tyler found dealing with emotions... difficult, which was why at times like this she just wished for someone who even kind of understood to hold onto. But he was trying, so the fact she was even thinking that way made her feel horrible.

Tyler studied Regan for a moment. She looked downright miserable. "Regan, I wanted to come here. I wanted to come because you wanted to come. I care about you, that's why I followed. That's why I tried to heal you... that's why I tried to figure out what the people were doing, that's why I helped you into the tree, that's why I watched the sunsets with you.. I care. I would never let anything bad happen to you, and I don't care whether you think it's your fault... because it's not. Neither of us got hurt so everything is fine." Tyler finally spoke, his voice low and soothing. He was trying to be as helpful as possible... but even he was still shaken up by what he saw. And the fact that the guy was just SITTING there. -Could he like... leave and go get sacrificed or something? I'm trying my hardest here- Tyler thought grumpily
