Ajax let out a small whine of disapproval, sagging back against the couch with a defeated moan. "Fiiine. I'll just stay right here, even though I AM EVIL and you should FEAR ME because I am a SCARY DEMON." He grumbled, slowly twining a strand of Mercy's hair around his finger as he thought up a good retort to say next. "You'd better thank me I didn't get up and leave you hanging. Literally." Ajax finally huffed with a glare, thought beneath the grudging joke he was really trying hard not to just burst into loud laughter.

Mercy raised her eyebrows at his whine, grinning at his drama. "For a big, evil, scary demon who everyone should fear, you sure seem to like cuddles and kisses from an angel." She teased, chuckling at him. "Thank you so much Ajax, for choosing to cuddle with me rather than drag me around."

Ajax let out an injured gasp. "Who said I liked cuddles and kisses?" He scoffed, narrowing his eyes a little and letting out a loud huff. "Yeah! You're welcome! I mean, not that I WANT to cuddle with you- but dragging you around seems like WAAY too much work. Although, I definitely could because I am stronger than average, don't get me wrong." Ajax flashed a smile, his blue eyes twinkling with that daring look he always had- well- until he was flat on his back barely able to breath bleeding from way too many wounds to count with his ribs smahed in. Then he didn't look so daring- but hey, who cared. He wasn't like that now.

"Me, because I can read your mind and I know they're your absolute favorite thing in this world." Mercy teased. She rolled her eyes. "Yeah, right. You love cuddles! Admit it!" She huffed indignantly, watching him stubbornly until She laid her head back down on his shoulder to close her eyes.

Ajax looked totally unconvinced at this point in time. "Favorite thing? I'll let you in on a secret. They may not be my least favorite thing, but saying they are my FAVOIRITE is more than a stretch. That's like jumping the grand canyon." He snorted, frowning at her. "I do NOT love them. I may love YOU, but not THEM." He pointed out wiith a sly smile. -Will she get it? C'mon angel brain!- He thought hopefully

"Mmmhm, lie all you want, I still know the truth. Either way, you adore me and my cuddles, I know it." Mercy teased. She huffed at him dramatically. "Isn't that kind of contradictory? Surely if you love me you'll love being close to me as well." She said sarcastically, maybe not quite understanding what he meant.

"I may adore you but you and cuddles are not a package dal!" Ajax retorted with a grumpy huff, chuckling a little. His face fell and he rolled his eyes at her comment. "C'mon Mercy. I SAID I LOVE YOU, DID YOU NOT HEAR THAT. No prompting, just POOF OH MY GOODNESS it came out! Wow!" He clapped his hands slowly to emphasize.

"Yes, they are! And you will take the cuddles, deal with them, and like it!" Mercy huffed stubbornly. She flopped her head against his chest as he spoke. "I did! But I don't think I should have to praise you for acknowledging your love for me." She said stubbornly, flushing slightly.

Ajax lifted his hands. "I surrender." He said simply, leaning back and thinking that he may never get off the couch again. "Ok ok ok, suit yourself. Not my problem." He chuckled, closing his eyes. "So- are we ever getting up? Juuust a question don't get all fire-dragon roary whatever." Ajax teased, cracking his eyes open to peer at her for a moment.

"As you should." Mercy muttered, curling up a little more. "No, no we are not. I'm going to sit here until you turn to stone or you cuddle me back. Its honestly not that big of an ask." She teased, lifting a hand to toy with his hair.
