Caleb sped ahead when Cass stopped, turning Splash around to join back to her. He was laughing as well, happy she was happy. "Same here." He said, chuckling

Cass led them in between the trees. The sun starting to turn into the horizon in the late afternoon. "I like to come up here. It's my favourite place on the ranch" She said, pulling Salem to complete stop to look between the trees towards the lake.

Caleb followed and gazed at the lake. "It's almost as beautiful as you." He muttered, hoping she heard him without him directly saying it. "Why is here your favorite place?" He asked, turning to her

Cass has very good hearing, she gazed at Caleb in shock, turning to face him. She did't know what to say, until he asked her another question. She finally managed to talk "There aren't many trees here on the ranch, the tell me the seasons as they come and go" She looks up, watching the tops of the leaves sway softly in the summer breeze. "And this hill right here, offers the best view of the lake". She raises her gaze to meet his. His blue eyes like deep bottomless pools, like the lake was now the sun was reaching a low point in the sky. "I hope you like it as much as I do" She said blushing at him, turning back to admire the view.

"I do. I love it. I'm assuming your brother comes here with you?" He asks, gazing at her with a smile
| |

"Him? What? No" She paused to turn and look at him, her brows knitting together in confusion. "Just me. I don't even bring Beau here. She's too young to appreciate it" She said solemnly.

"Thanks, then." He said, gazing at her. "What do you guys do when you're not working. Surely the guys don't just drink and ride?" He asked,
| |

"Ummm, most of the guys just go out about the local town and get drunk" She said softly. "There ain't nothing else for them to spend their money on out here" She swung her gaze from him to the beautiful landscape in front of them. "My family and I try and get involved in the local community and go for days out when we can, like the fair, this weekend just gone" She looked back at him and smiled at the memory. "I'm looking forward to this weekend though" She said shyly.

"So you'll come?" He asked, smiling at her. He had a fluttery feeling about her

Cass took in Caleb fully, his staring at her with wide eyes was making her pulse race. "Yes" She paused "I managed to convince Jaxon to swap with me" She said a light humour to her tone. She decides to dismount. She drops the reins, letting Salem eat the grass. She moves round to sit in the grass.
