Sam smiled and said hi to his friends, introduciing Ellie to them all. Finding a cosy bench just to the outside of the pool, where they sat down. Sam sighed, looking out at the crowd of people laughing and splashing into the pool. "its nice to see my friends again..thanks for coming, Ellie." he said with a smile

Ellie smirked lightly as she watched the violent splashing followed by sharp laughter. "You're welcome. I don't think yiu would have needed me to come though." She said with a smile. "You're welcome to actually go talk to them. I'm perfectly happy staying here, I'll find my way around." She offered softly.

"ok, i will." he said, getting up "just don't fall into the pool!" he joked as he walked into his group of friends, leaving Ellie sitting there. Sam found himself at the side of the large pool, being talked to and joked with from all angles. He tried his best to actually talk to them, but with everybody practically shouting at him, it was hard. From in amongst the frenzy of friends an arm stuck out, connecting with Sam's chest and sending him flying into the air, right above the pool. Crap was his last thought before his body, fully-clothed, hit the blue water. He stayed there underwater for a second, in shock, before pushing himself up to the surface.

Ellie smiled as she watched him walk off, waiting a few minutes before going to get a drink. She skilfully manoeuvred her way around the pool and people, before getting to the drinks. None of the jugs looked like they hadn't either been spiked or had some form of alcohol, so she just went for whatever looked the safest, although it was probably the least of that.
After a short while of just walking around, she found a few people in a quiet corner of whom she started talking to, just to make a few friendly faces. A few moments passed when she heard a loud splash then load of bellowing laughter. She excused herself as she went to inspect, where she found herself starting to be a little nervous. Whoever was under the water seemed to be struggling to get back up, but soon managed to resurface. She chuckled lightly as she saw Sam's head Bob up. "Are you alright there?!" She asked with a smile, managing to meet him at the edge of the pool.

Sam made a frowny face at her, treading water in the deep end. "well i didn't mean to go swimming fully clothed, but yeah im fine." Said Sam, chuckling a little as he hoisted himself out of the pool, jokingly flipping his finger to the guy who pushed him in. "i mean it was kinda inevitable for that to happen, shame it had to be me though." He said, laughing as he walked with Ellie to grab a towel.

"Hmmm, a shame." She agreed with a jokey chuckle. "At least you got a swim. You know how good swimming is for you?" Ellie asked with a tilted head as Sam stopped for a towel and started to dry his hair.

"hmm,' he said and laughed, furiously rubbing his hair with the towel so it could resemble something other than a rather sad, wet mop. it was hot, and his clothes dried fast, so he didnt need to change, he decided. After a little while longer of laughing and talking with Ellie and his friends, he nudged her side and said "time to go?" it was nearing midnight.

Ellie really started to enjoy herself, getting to chat with new people, of what she never really did. "Uh, yeah, you want to go?" She asked quietly before drinking the last in her cup. It had been a while, she knew that, but it didn't feel like it had been quite so long. She went to put her cup in the bin and said a few goodbyes before returning to Sam.

"i need to feed Nero and Ella." Sam said, pulling an apologetic face, he could tell she was enjoying herself. Pushing through the people, they reache the dusty track back to the stables, and started to walk home.

"Its fine" she murmured before following him out to the track. They walked side by side along the dusty road and old track before giving a soft smile. "Thank you for convincing me to come with you," She said quietly as she let her hand lightly brush against his before looking at Sam, like she was asking permission to hold it.
