She burrowed against him, only looking up when he pointed out the star. "Will you be there if I follow it?" Liz asked curiously, peering up at him.

Sage smiled softly down at her with a nod. "I'll always be there with you," he promised. "But for now, why don't you go back to sleep? It's late," he suggested gently. He didn't want her tired.

She shook her head, yawning. "No, I wanna stay with you." Liz mused, smiling up at him.

Sage sighed softly and nodded. "alright," he agreed. "But try to get back to sleep while you're out here, yeah," he mused, wrapping both arms around her as she nodded and settled down against his chest. Once she was asleep, he moved to gently transfer her back to her crib, barely making it back outside before coughing again, this time spitting the blood out of his mouth before slumping back against the wall of the cabin, catching his breath. Should he tell Elara about this? Would she even really care? What would happen to Liz? He couldn't expect Elara to take care of her.

Elara woke to the commotion, worried something had broken in, or someone. She stood, grabbing her hunting knife and scanning the cabin before walking outside and seeing Sage. "Sage," She called, voice quiet with sleep. "You alright? You should be resting..."

Sage nearly jumped out of his skin when elara appeared, before shaking his head. "I'm alright," he noted. 'just didn't want to wake you or Liz up by hacking up my lungs," he noted with a sheepish smile. "Apparently I failed at that one," he added apologetically.

She chuckled lightly at his comment, leaning against the doorframe a little. "Need anything? Did that salve help at all? Just need opinions that i'm not crazy and that it actually does work." Elara mused, looking back at him.

Sage hummed softly and nodded. "It does help," he agreed. "It doesn't hurt as much as it probably should with it," he added before turning his head to cough again, wiping his hand on the grass under the blanket.
| |
| |

"Go-" She paused, eyes widening slightly. "What...did you just...wipe off your hand?" Elara asked, now worried even more.
| |
| |

Sage sort of froze when she asked what he'd wiped off his hand, panicking as he thought of what to say. "Uhh...phlegm and stuff," he finally settled on, keeping his hand under the blanket in case all of the blood hadn't been removed...gras wasn't perfect after all.
