Malakai Negri - Kai nodded, he understood now, but it didn't make it hurt any less. "Okay..." he said barely above a whisper. Tears welled in his eyes as he looked away, refusing to meet her gaze. "Please get off of me..." he whispered. Malakai understood, but he thought they were getting somewhere. He couldn't have her cuddle with him like this if she kept denying him. He couldn't do both. It hurt too much. |

Camery Valatieri - Camery watched as tears welled in his eyes, her heart shattering for him. She didn't want to hurt him. She thought that maybe explaining it would make it easier, but god seeing like this hurt. Her brows pinched together when he asked her to get off, and froze for a moment before slowly nodding and carefully rolled away, sitting with her back to him as she perched on the edge of the bed. She couldn't kiss him right then. She couldn't bring herself to. There were so many factors now that just weren't there before. The fact that he was a king of the kingdom that her family had been at war with for centuries was a big one. The castle on lockdown... all of it, they were reasons. If they were going to be together, she wanted to start right. Not with this many bumps in the road. "Please don't push me away," she whispered quietly. "I love you... now just isn't a good time," she was repeating herself, hoping he at least understood that. |

Malakai Negri - Malakai shook his head, tears dripping down his cheeks. "Cam... I can't do this anymore..." he whispered, his voice choked. "I keep getting my hopes up..." tears dripped down his face faster. This wasn't the first time he'd tried to get close to her and she just pushed him away again. He couldn't do this anymore... "Cam... I can't just be friends anymore... I can't do it..." Kai still refused to meet her eye. |

Camery Valatieri - Camery looked back at him when she heard him choak up, her heart dropping. He couldn't do it anymore? What did that mean? She was trying, really trying not to hurt him. She wanted him to be happy, and she wanted to be the person that made him happy. Her brows pinched together, her face drawn and worried. "What... what does that mean?" She whispered. |

"I'm not happy like this... I can't keep living like this..." he finally met her gaze, tears dripping down his cheeks, hurt and desperate, and love evident in his eyes. |

Camery Valatieri - Camery looked at him for a moment, her eyes wide. He looked so hurt... she wasn't rejecting him. She just wanted to get through all this first. "Malakai I didn't friendzone you," she whispered softly. "I want you, we just can't right now. It would make things so much harder than they need to be..." she trailed off after a moment when he heard his next comment. "You can't keep living like this?" She whispered, her heart thumping in her chest. What did that mean? Had he given up on her? Want her to leave? Or did he really mean he couldn't live like this. "What do you want, Kai?" She asked, a slight lump in her throat. |

Malakai Negri - "Yes, you are... you're telling me we can't be together until you say its the right time. Thats friendzoning me until you say we can be together..." he cried harder. "I want you! Thats all I want... thats all I've ever wanted..." he sobbed. "The woman I fell in love with... she wouldn'tve cared... it was illegal for a bodyguard and a princess to date, but she didn't care... she still loved me..." he sobbed. |

Camery Valatieri - The woman just stared at him for a moment, her brows pinched together. "Malakai, that's not what I meant," she whispered softly, trying to calm him down. "I just don't think it's smart to do anything now," she whsipered. It wouldn't have been smart, either... people were already suspicious of her, and her parents wouldn't be happy about this at all. When he starting crying harder, she didn't know what to do with herself. "You already have me," she murmured gently to him. "There's no one else, only you. If you just give it a bit of time..." she trailed off, knowing it probably wouldn't help. "Me loving my bodyguard is different from me falling in love with a king," her voice was a whisper now, starting to break a little as she tried to stop tears from welling in her eyes. "I still love you! God, are you not hearing me? I love you!" |

"I know its really stupid to do something right now, god it would be so stupid, but I can't keep going like this. I can't keep pretending that we don't love each other, I can't keep restraining myself from kissing you," he sobbed harder and harder. "I need you fully... or I need... or I need to try to move on..." |

Camery Valatieri - Camery watched him for a moment, blinking tears back. "I understand! I know it's hard, Kai," she whispered, her voice so quiet. She was normally so sure of what to say, of what to do, but right then she just wasn't. She loved him, but she wasn't making him happy. She saw him like this far too often. She made him like this far too often. "But you either wait for me, pretend we don't love eachother or... or you have to move on. You can't keep doing this, and I can't keep seeing you like this," she whispered. It was so hard... she needed a bit more time. Let things settle down, then try again. "I can't give myself to you fully yet," she whispered gently to him, standing up. |
