Maxine nodded happily "Okay." She cooed kissing his cheek "You'll get a very good night sleep I'm sure." She assured taking his hand. "Are you sure you're both okay to leave?" Roxie asked curiously "Your injuries are still pretty significant..." She admitted "I think we're fine..." Maxine said "We just want to get home." She said with a nod. Roxie gave a nod "As you wish... But... Thank you both." She said "I won't ask for anything else for a while..." She assured with a chuckle "However... I owe you both a favor." She nodded. Maxine gave a nod before she headed off with Sage. When they finally reached Charlie she was nestled in the warm fur of one of Maxine's wolves sound asleep like nothing had happened. Maxine smiled and looked at Sage relief flooding her expression their daughter was none the wiser as to the events... It was like she'd been at home curled up in her crib all day long. Sage couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief when he saw his daughter sleeping safe and sound with one of the wolves Max had no doubt created. They got home quickly, and sage flopped down on the bed with a sigh. "I want to marry you as soon as possible....before anything else crazy happens," he murmured sleepily to Max as she set Charlie down in her crib.

Maxine smiled as she put Charlie in her crib "Me too... Well settle in here a bit let our wounds heal and then we can get that going..." She said flopping down beside him on her belly sucking air between her teeth when she received a painful reminder about her shoulder. She winced and grit her teeth before letting out an exhausted breath and curling up beside him "It feels so good to have my Fiancee beside me again." She smiled up at him. After a few minutes of breathing in his scent and taking in his warmth again she fell asleep... She was at ease... More then she had been in the last few days. When she woke up the next morning to feed Charlie however she was hurting so instead of going back to sleep she stayed up and began her long awaited search for a wedding gown... No she wasn't the dress type... But she'd do anything for Sage that much was for certain. Edited at October 3, 2022 01:02 AM by Polar Lights

Sage smiled over at Max and cuddled up to her tiredly. "It feels good to be home with you and Charlie," he murmured happily. It was true, he was warm and cozy, and he's was just really glad to be home. The next morning, he stayed asleep past Max. He felt he get up, but he was exhausted and really just wanted to sleep, so he did. He probably would have fallen asleep again even if he did wanna get up.

Max had nodded in agreement before she drifted off to sleep. Max was happy to let Sage sleep in whilst she looked for a dress... After an hour or two however she put Charlie in her little bouncer and went to prepare some breakfast for her and Sage humming happily as she tried desperately to ignore her sore shoulder. She had just enough ingredients to make some pancakes for the two of them... It was the least she could do... Make him breakfast in bed. When she finished she brought the pancakes and some juice in for him sitting on his side of the bed and gently rubbing his arm to wake him "Good morning..." She said gently when he opened his eyes.

Sage woke up slowly, blinking a few times and rubbing his eyes with a sleepy sigh before he shifted so he could look up at Max and mumble a sort of good morning to her. Nope, still wasn't a morning person. He could smell the food though, and that woke him up a bit, though he was, admittedly, still half asleep. He patted the hand on his arm and smiled over at her as he sat up slowly with a slight groan - he'd figured he'd be sore, but it was still a bit of an awakening.

Maxine giggled lightly "I know you're tired but you can't sleep too late... That's not good for you either." She said gently kissing his temple and then the knuckles of his hand that had patted hers "Eat up... It'll help... Once we have a bit more strength we can go hunting..." She assured him with a smile watching as he sat up her hand still on him radiating a small bit of her healing energy to him.

Sage yawned and nodded. "I know, I know. But sleep still sounds good," he laughed sleepily. Once he started eating though, he woke up a bit. It would still take him a bit to fully wake up, and he was still sore, even after Max's attempt to heal him a bit more. It had helped, yes, but there was some stuff that weren't injuries making him sore ...he hadn't fought like that in a while.

"I know..." She said gently "We'll get more sleep soon." She told him with a smile "Besides... You were asleep all night..." She smirked indicating she'd been up with Charlie and let him sleep. She smiled and kissed his forehead before joining him in bed and relaxing whilst she ate.

Sage chuckled and nodded. "I know." He grinned sheepishly at her when she started teasing him lightly. "I haven't really slept in a while," he admitted. "I get too uptight to relax....you know that." He was glad she woke him up though...eating breakfast in bed with Max was something he enjoyed quite a bit.
