Chaos was obviously worried....he and sage had been together since he was foaled, and they really were best friends. Sage himself knew chaos would be worried, but he doubted Quinn would let the animal in the cave. But Quinn knew what was best, not him, so he supposed he'd just have to trust her.

Quinn sighed. "I'll tell you when he's awake." She said quietly. Chaos could not come in the cave... but at least he could know Sage was awake. Quinn walked back into the cave, her shoulders sagging. She knew he was in terrible pain... but the mental toll this took on her was huge.

Sage slept for quite a while before his eyes fluttered open slowly. He went to stretch, and then immediately regretted it when his body reminded him he was injured. So he settled back down, raising his head to look around the cave to get a sense of his surroundings. Quinn was there....good. It settled his nerves a bit. The hunter would have died....but he knew they were there probably. Which meant others might too. They probably didn't...the hunter wouldn't have told others in case they stole his prize. But he could have..and if he had friends, this could end really bad for him. And Quinn too, he supposed.

Quinn glanced iver a tree Sage. "You're awake.. good. How are you feeling." She asked, walking over and sitting down near him, observing him with her brows furrowed. She clenched his fists and unclenched them, trying to get her jitters out... and the weird urge to go kill something. Quinn may be a little angry.

Sage smiled tiredly over at the girl. "I'm alright," he whispered, his voice raspy since his throat was so dry. But he did feel a bit better now that the herbs had soaked in and he'd rested, and everything was calm now. He did notice her jitters though, and a kind of smile crossed his face. "You don't have to stay here with me you know," he told her. He let her check him over, though, knowing it would help her calm down a bit.

Quinn sighed. "Does it really hurt? Should I get more poppyseed?" She asked worriedly. She came a tiny bit closer, looking worried. "You did get shot... you can't just be 'alright'." She murmured, wondering if there was a plant for sore throats... she tipped her head at his last comment. "I would much rather be here than anywhere else." She answered

Sage let out a breathy chuckled at the girl's worry and shook his head, patting her leg gently. 'its not like this is the first time I've been shot," he noted with a twinge of amusement in his voice. Then he shrugged. "Alright pretty much sums it up. Not feeling great, but it could be worse I suppose," he hummed, shifting slightly to rest his head in the girls lap before closing his eyes again wearily. "If you say so," he hummed, trusting the girl to do the right thing.

Quinn thought back to the time she was shot. Worst. Day. Of. Her. Life. For pain, anyway. She understood how much Sage must hurt. "Well I'm glad you are 'alright' instead of 'excruciating pain'. Quinn sighed, fiddling with her fingers. She didn't really know what to do or say... She had just replaced Sage's dressing, so she couldn't do anything there.

Sage hummed lightly and nodded. "Whatever you did is working," he hummed tiredly. He closed his eyes, more than happy to just rest his head in her lap and left himself drift off into sleep again. It hurt less like that, and he was still a bit tired. Besides, he got bored, and sleeping rather than trying to move on his own seemed like the smartest option.

Quinn got comfortable, staying perfectly still. She knew sleep was good for Sage, so Shen decided to drift off also. Quinn leaned her head back against the wall, drifting off slowly.
