Sam pouted childishly and said "but barrels are scary" before laughing lightly. "oh well, i do suppose you could get off. But that does mean youre a complete and utter chicken." he said, a challenging smirk on his face. "try and go over the jump?" he asked sweetly.

"Fineeeee," Ellie huffed and flexed the rains to turn Nero around and pushing him into a trot, stepping neatly over the little jump. Ellie looked a little uncomfortable with the rains but soon sorted herself out. When she brought him back to walk, she huffed and walked back to Sam. "Will I get away with not being a chicken if I get off now?"

"allright then." Sam said, Holding Nero's reins while Elle hopped off. "that wasn't so bad, was it?" he said, jumping back onto nero's back to walk back down the field to the exit. Just for the sake of showing off, he hopped over a couple tall brushes and a picnic table before reachng the end of the field with his horse and Ellie with him, reaching down and unlatching the gate from Nero's back.

Still like to show off, huh? She thought with a small smile across her cheeks as she watched him from across the field. She reached to open the gate but Sam had beaten her to it. She huffed and shook her head mockingly as they walked, "see, I couldn't do that. I'd fall right off the side." She noted with a small chuckle.

'I know." Sam said smugly. He got off, showering Nero with pats and praise for his patience. "didnt you at least have a little bit of fun?" Sam asked Ellie, who was watching quietly. He untacked his horse and gave him a quick groom before turning him out into the paddock. Summer was still with them, and Sam felt a warm breeze tickle his bare arms.

Ellie sighed softly before smiling, "Yeaaaa, I did," She said with a little chuckle, "But I'd never do it again." She finished as Sam returned. She sun had turned orange and the day was at its hottest, but it was comforting on her sun-kissed cheeks.

Sam grinned, flopping down on the ground under a tree. "thought so." he said happily. After sitting there with Ellie for a little while, he got the ting! of a message from his phone. it was from his father-figure friend who had helped them keep the horses in his field the other day when they were in town. it read: hey, thought you could do with some cheering up after what happened with your Father. Go to the haybarn, choose wisely. Sam frowned at the text, raising one eyebrow in confusion before holding the phone up to Ellie for her to see. "guess we should head to the barn then.." Sam said, getting up and heading with her over to the haybarn, opening the doors. He was met by the sight of about half a dozen puppies yapping and gamboling around in the hay. On the floor was a note from his friend, which told him he could pick one to keep. Widening his eyes at Ellie, his smile crept up his face. Sam grinned, grabbed Ellie's hand and dived into the pile of hay and puppies.

Ellie tilted her head a little, before nodding and following him towards the barn. She heard the quiet yapping from outside the yard, but didn't pay much attention, not until Sam flung the barn doors open. Then, there was the wonderful sight of puppies swarming around their feet. Before, she looked confused, she looked a little exited as she watched Sam read the note, "Wha-" She cut off when Sam pulled her towards the rest of the puppies. She grinned as she sat down in the hay and puppies and they started to crawl all over her, "Who brought them here?" She asked with a small chuckle as one tried to lick her face.

Sam explained to her about his friend who had let them keep the horses with him. "well i guess we need to decide on one." Sam said thoughtfully. Just then, a little Bernese Mountain Dog puppy waddled up to them and flopped down on their laps, her little tounge lolling out of her mouth. She was black with a white and gingergold face. And when she looked up at Sam he saw she had the most beautiful piercing blue eyes. just, he thought, like Ellie's. He exchanged a glance with Ellie and smiled before saying "name ideas?"

Ellie raised a brow as she rubbed the puppies floppy ears, "Name ideas?" She questioned with a tilted head "Uhmmm....E.J." She joked as she started to tickle the puppies belly. "She'll be yours- so whatever you please," Ellie smiled softly with a small chuckle. "I just think it's cool that he got you a puppy- or multiple for the time being," She noted with an ear to ear grin.
