"No, I think I love you more." Ajax stated, then tilted his head to listen. He sighed a little as she finished, nodded and turning his gaze back to the starry sky. "I can't imagine what I would look like if I was *old*." He snorted a little, then closed his eyes for a moment. "But it would have been nice. And yes, silver lining, eternity. However much I would have loved to meet you as a human, eternity with you now sounds a little better than living together and losing each other as soon as we die. What if we never found each other again? Things would be so different if we actually did grow *old* on earth. Plus, if I had been born later, I would have been a much different person than I am now. Same with you." Ajax mused quietly, glancing at Mercy and finally noticing she looked a little chilly. "Do you need a blanket or should we go in the cabin? It is a little chilly out here, even if it is also beautiful." He inquired.

"No, because I love you more." Mercy muttered softly, curling closer to him. She chuckled slightly at his little joke, shaking her head. "Distinguished." She said simply, listening to him speak with her head tilted slightly. "Yes, that's true I guess. I'm glad I got to find you anyway, life or afterlife." She shrugged, glancing up at him. "Well, I do love this view. But I'm also... very cold. Can we maybe go inside?" She offered tentatively.

"I still think I love you more but I guess we can agree to disagree." Ajax smiled a little. "Me too... ad we can go inside but I do have a question. Where did you grow up as a living human?" He asked, pushing himself to his feet with a yawn and running a hand through his tussled black hair. "I like the cold, since I grew up being cooked to death in Texas." Ajax chuckled a little, slowly starting to walk back to the cabin.

"Sure." Mercy said playfully, pushing herself up after him and scrambling to stick herself close at his side. She tilted her head slightly at the question, shooting him a smile. "I grew up in Virginia." She said lightly, intertwining her fingers with his as they walked.

"Virginia, eh? Good state." Ajax mused, gently holding Mercy's hand and opening the cabin door. He let Mercy enter before going in after her, the warmth of walls suddenly washing over him. "Well now I'm exhausted." Ajax commented as he yawned widely, sitting on the couch.

"I like to think so. You're from grand old Texas, I know that." Mercy teased, giving his hand a quick squeeze as they walked inside. "I've been exhausted." She murmured softly, flopping down beside him and laying her head on his shoulder with a little sigh.

Ajax chuckled a little and closed his eyes, trying not to pass out. Yet, anyway. "Okay yep you're right, I've been exhausted as well. Hopefully there's no more surprises..." He snorted a little, opening his eyes sleepily and glancing around. "Aaaand my brain has shut off so it is time for me to konk out." Ajax yawned again, closing his eyes again as well, and passing out where he sat. Hey, when you were exhausted you didn't need to be comfortable.

"Life does like to surprise us." Mercy teased, giving a small sigh and curling her legs up as he spoke. "Good night." She murmured lightly, surprised at how quickly he had fallen asleep. She watched him for a moment and glanced at the bedroom, then at him. And so she made up her mind to sleep on the couch with him, standing and walking off to grab the blanket from the bed. She walked back to him and gently laid it over him, pressing a light kiss to his forehead before she settled back down at his side, under the blanket. "Love you." She muttered softly, closing her eyes and falling asleep rather quickly once her head laid on his shoulder.

Ajax was out cold by the time Mercy sat back down. He was truly tired from all the work, he just didn't show it as much. He did feel Mercy's warmth though, and even being asleep he still knew she was there. After confirming that his mind wandered off into who-knows-what land. The morning sun shone brightly in the windows, sending rays of golden light falling in strips across the wooden floor. Ajax didn't open his eyes, but he could almost see the light through his eyelids.

Mercy was up somewhat early the next day, opening her eyes to golden lights and the sound of Ajax's breathing. She stirred slightly and gently pulled herself off from his side. She stood quietly and pressed a light kiss to his forehead, walking quietly into the kitchen to figure out something to make for breakfast.
