Kylie came back later that day.
| |

"Hey babe," He chirped, walking up. "Uh, sorry about earlier, I plain ignored you and I feel bad about it, I was just really tired, i'm sorry."
| |
| |
"Its okay," she sighed. She looked absolutely awful, exhausted.
| |

"You ok?" He asked, hand cupping her cheek slightly.
| |
| |
She shook her head, tears welling in her eyes.
| |

"What happened?" He asked, softly.
| |
| |
She shook her head, tears dripping down her cheeks. "...I was so scared, Max..." she breathed.
| |

"Why?" He asked softly, holding her close.
| |
| |
"...Being alone... at night... after... after..." she trailed off leading into sobs.
| |

Max's heart split in two as the realization dawned on him ; he was the reason she was crying, all because the stupid job he'd decided to stay at even after all the years of insane bosses and even worse coworkers, all for the title. "Kylie... babe i'm sorry, I had to go in..." He murmured, quietly, and lacking any emotion.
