Jade tilted her head to the side. "I don't think I've had any that tasted like this. They've always been... different somehow." She took a few more sprinkles then closed the container. When he handed her the spoon, she eagerly shifted closer, her shoulder brushing his, taking the whisk and gripping the bowl with her free hand. "Thanks, Gail!" She immediately started mixing, her brow furrowed in concentration. She mixed until it started getting a bit thicker. By his point, she had bit her lip a little as she focused on mixing every ingredient in. |

Gale noticed when her shoulder brushed his, deciding to stay and leave their shoulders touching. A soft expression was written on his face as she eagerly mixed, chuckling when he noticed her furrowed brows and bit lip. "Everything seems mixed, never want to over mix---or under mix but, still." He noted, taking the whisk from her hand and setting it aside, grabbing a pan with parchment already spread across it. "Watch, you're going to dump the batter onto the pan in small portions, not too much, not too little." The man instructed, taking the bowl from her---his hands brushing hers for just a moment before he showed her the proper amount and handed it back. "Here, you try." |

Jade watched the batter with rapt attention, but when he didn't immediately move away, she swallowed. When his hand brushed hers upon passing the bowl, her brain froze, all her focus shooting to the feather-light tough of his hand near hers. She grit her teeth for a second, reeling her mind back so she could dump batter in the pans. Let's just say she made a mess. Drops of cookie batter were splattered everywhere. She took a finger, wiping the surface clean then licking it off. "Mmm, it's going to be great!" She bounced on her toes, eyes glued to Gail in pure joy. |

Gale chuckled at her increasing joy, turning the oven on and slipping the pan in before shutting it. "Alright, now we just wait thirty minutes." He explained, leaning back against the counter and crossing his arms. The man's eyes drifted back over to her, taking in her features and accepting he maybe sorta liked her, even though he knew he shouldn't. |

Jade mirrored his actions, leaning against the counter. She glanced around the kitchen before hopping onto the cool surface, her feet dangling over the edge. She smiled at Nima who was silently chastizing her for being on the counter top. Hannah followed her Father around the room, earning little tastes as she behaved. Jade grabbed the bowl, sticking her hand in and licking the batter off her fingers. She hummed with approval then extended the bowl toward Gail. "Try some. It's amazing!" |

He chuckled, taking the bowl offer. "Alright, if you say so." Gale mused, dipping two fingers in before trying some and nodding in agreement, setting the bowl back down. "Mhm, family recipie. Always has been the greatest one I've ever had." He explained, the cookies eventually ready and Gale grabbing the pan out and setting the pan down. "Don't eat them yet, we still need to make the frosting." |

Jade cleaned the rest of the bowl, licking the last of the batter off her fingers with a sigh. She was about to put the bowl in the sink, but she had just gotten off the counter when a cook gently took the bowl away, cleaning it for her. She stared at her, frozen in place. Even when she was trying to have fun, something had to ruin it. She couldn't even be a normal girl down here. She ducked her head, leaning against the counter as Gail pulled the cookies out of the oven. Her eyes widened at the sight, her mind blanking. "They look amazing!" Her voice pitched slightly higher as she stepped to his side, leaning over his shoulder to gaze at the cookies. She noticed how close she was and she stepped back, busying herself by collecting the sprinkles and setting them beside the icing. |

Gale chuckled softly, glancing at her as he set the pan down, a cook stepping closer to them before Gale shot him a look which said everything that needed to be, the woman scurrying off with a paler expression. The man started collecting the ingredients, setting them all out on the counter as he tried to remember what the measurements were. Eventually he did, grabbing all the scoops and such before placing them out. He instructed Jade on what to do, correcting her mistakes while she wasn't looking as to not ruin anything for her. Eventually they were done, the two icing the cookies before setting them all back on the pan, adding the sprinkles Jade had wanted before they both tried them. |
