Cade watched her as she fell to the ground. He set his stuff down and walked over to her. When he reached her, he sat down on the ground next to her, and brought his knees up to his chest. "Who said anything about you needing to switch back?" Cade sat there, glancing at her wings. They had wrapped around her, forming a wall, a protection from the outside world. He wrapped his arms around his legs, sighing. "I don't see the need for you to change back into a human. I already know you're a demon and there's no one else in these woods."

Saphire looked up. Darn it. Why was he right? She was supposed to be leaving so she could protect him! "I hate to admit it, but you are right" she sighed and let her wings droop as she relaxed. She turned around, her back against the tree. "Well now what? How do we get food? I don't need any but I can only imagine that you are hungry" she stated

Cade breathed out, he was hungry but he could go a couple days without food. Besides it was getting dark and they needed to find somewhere to stay for the night. He looked over at Saphire, happy he had gotten her to put her defenses down, it felt nice to have someone trust him. "I'm okay for now, we should find somewhere to stay for the night thought, it's getting dark."

She eyed him for a second. "I'm still going to push you needing food but whatever" she looked up through the branches of the tree she was leaning on. "How about this guy right here? I can climb up and find a branch to sleep on" she glanced at Cade for a second before standing and folding her wings behind her back.

"Sure, I can get some pine needles and make a bed on the ground right here." Cade didn't want to admit it but there was no way he could climb that tree, his best bet was staying on the ground and hoping that nothing came his way during the night. He blushed a bit and looked at the ground, kicking the dirt with his foot.

"You sure? I feel like that would be rather uncomfortable " she watched him for a second before shrugging. "Suit yourself" she spun around and reached up, grabbing the lowest branch and hoisting herself up. She didnt use her wings one bit- if anything they were in the way- but she managed to climb pretty high up befor looking back down. "You 100% sure you don't want to be up here? I can help you up. Its not that big of a deal" she said

He blushed a bit at that. "I can't climb up there myself. If you want to help me that would be great but I'm not fussed about staying down here." He said, trailing off a bit at the end.

Saphire climbed down the tree without a word. She stretched her healed wing out. "We can both climb and I'll keep my wing behind you if you start to fall. Trust me I have done this many times before with some fairly large birds. I think they overate but that beside the point" she gave a weak smile and stood next to him. "Okay." Cade smiled guardedly at her, then walked over to the tree. He took a deep breath the grabbed onto a branch, pulling himself up. His foot found a lower branch and he stood there for a couple seconds before reaching for a branch higher up. He did start to slip a couple times but Saphire caught him with her wings. After what for him, felt like an hour, and for Saphire was probably 5 minutes of very slow climbing they had made it up to the branch Saphire had found. Cade sat down, stradling the branch. He causiously rested his back against the tree's trunk and took a deep breath.
