(Oh that's fine! I'm at another Dog Show haha, so I don't have long either))
-
Riptide lifted his cranium slightly, preparing his quick but to the point words he'd have to speak to Minnah. At her concern, he shook his head slightly. "I don't believe he'd do that. He is too much of a wimp- he knows if I come back, he is doomed." He answered curtly, tilting his cranium slightly, his audits swiveling at her next, short answer. He moved on from it, as she seemed she wanted to, and nodded. "I'll go inform them." He commented before turning around and trotting off, his strides long to cover ground. After breaking back through the treeline, he approached Minnah. "I am going with Noda to help her find her dam. Can you keep watch while I'm gone?" He asked quietly, his statement simple and to the point, explaining what he needed to say. He flicked his tail, cocking a hoof slightly to watch her expression. He didn't know how she would respond, as she had been acting kind of weird lately.

Noda had simply waited under the willow, preparing the marigolds she had picked from the meadow and grabbing a few more pieces of bark. She prayed that her wounds wouldn't slow them down, but she felt that if she could keep the pain manageable, she could get through it.
.
Minnah had been grazing contently when she heard the familair cadence of her herd stallion. With a cheerful whinny, she trotted over to meet him as he approached. She was sure to show her fresh scrape non-chalantley, as to provoke it as a topic to discuss without her actually having to do so herself. Before she could bat her lashes or utter a word to him, he hit her with command like a slap to the face. "You're leaving? With that awful stallion still lurking? Ripp," She stopped with a flabbergasted scoff. "This mare, something doesn't feel right about her. She shows up and then coincidentally Ragnarok does as well? You don't find that odd, especially with her ... amnesia?" Minnah stated her words as politely as she could, making sure to sound utterly concerned. "I just wonder if you're putting too much faith in her." She sighed, allowing her saddened brown orbs to trail up to his features. She moved closer to him slowly, "Not to mention that we would miss you to be gone for so long."

The grey stallion raised his cranium slightly, his gaze flitting to her small wounds and narrowing slightly as he thought, but he said nothing for the moment. As Minnah started talking about Noda, his audits flicked back with slight annoyance and offense in Noda's defense. "Noda is completely trustworthy. I would trust her with my life." He stated firmly, his words like a proclamation that hopefully got the point across quickly. "Ragnorak was looking for her. I don't see any coincidence. Furthermore, I am quite certain he will not go after you or the other mares." His voice softened slightly, his brown orbs flitting to hers. As she moved closer, he didn't move for the moment, letting out a slow breath. Of course, he didn't suspect anything, as he was rather naive in that way. "It wouldn't be very long. I will return soon. You all have survived without me for more than a week when I was looking for this place, so I have full faith you will be fine." He smiled, flicking his tail as he leaned back on his haunches slightly to turn and go. "I'll see you soon, Minnah. Thank you." He flashed another smile before leaving, his suspicions slightly heightened by the mare's... interesting choice of words. She sounded so sweet, but her mistake was looking exactly like Noda when they were tricking Ripp into thinking they liked him. He could see the glint in Minnah's eye, and it made him uneasy. Of course, he was great at playing it off by now. He started to Trot back to Noda, his cranium lifted high.

Noda rested a hind hoof, shifting all of her weight to the other. Her long tail was finally free of the large tangles it had once held after the mare was able to pull the debris from its pieces. Now, it looked rather beautiful as it danced behind her frame in the gentle breeze. She sat in the silence of good thoughts. Thoughts of her mother. Daydreaming of what she was truly like. What she would say to her upon finding her. She wondered if she was still with the same herd, did she have siblings? The thoughts made her smile softly to herself. As she saw Riptide coming backtowards her, she redistributed her weight back out evenly and took a few steps to meet him. It was still hard to believe that he was still going with her. She couldn't help the tingly stirring in her chest as she thought about it. "Ready to go." Were the only words she was able to speak as she became aware of her lingering gaze.

The grey stud swished his tail as he trotted back, not regretting leaving the herd for a little while. All in all, it could become boring there, and although he did love everything being rather safe.. he was still young, and he could only sit in one spot for so long. He tossed his long mane as he weaved through the trees, not wanting his neck to grow sweaty in the oppressing sun. Finally, he was going to have a purpose. Or, at least something to do. Plus, finding Noda's dam would be nice for him, too, as he had always thought of Liona as a second mother- disregarding how weird that sounded. Riptide brought his umber orbs to Noda as she came into view, and headed that way, only slowing when he got closer. At her words he nodded, moving away towards the west, farther into the forest. If he remembered correctly, they had to travel all the way through the forest and to the mountains on the other side. His old herd had been at the base of those mountains. Ripp hoped that everyone was still there- and okay- because he wanted Noda to find Liona, and he only knew a couple other places the mare could be.

Hey, I'll probably be up for a little bit tonight to RP, but I have plans to spend the rest of the weekend at the beach so I probably won't be back on for RP until Monay night or Tuesday evening, depending on what time we get back! Just wanted to give you the heads up!
I think I am going to use this trip between them to open Noda up a bit.)
.
Noda sat quietly in her own thoughts for the first hour or so of their journey. Though there was a peaceful silence between them, the red mare's mind was racing with many thoughts, and most of them involving the stallion she traveled with. Periodically, she would peek up at him just in front of her, trying to almost read his mind and figure out what he was thinking. She paid notice to the scars that smudged his otherwise handsome, lightly dappled coat. She felt her chest tighten just the slightest at the thought of him locked in a battle to the death, recieving blows from opponents that inevitably would fall under his triumph; the scars, only one trophy he likely recieved. Up until now, she had only heard the stories of the past - from when they were younger - but what about his life after he left their birth herd? The longer it was just the two of them, the stronger the urge she felt to voice her wonders. "So, after you left our herd, how long did you wander?" She eventually asked curiously as her thoughts became too loud to ignore. She hoped it wasn't a touchy subject for him as most of their conversations had been over the last couple of days.

(Okay! I shouldn't have to skedadle (yes, I use that word on a normal basis and yes, I am insane XD) very soon, as I don't have to get up early tomorrow. Have fun at the beach! Thanks for the heads up, too.
Yeah, it's a good time for Ripp to open up as well. They need to get closer lol!))

The grey stallion swished his tail at an annoying fly or two, but other than that, he trekked on at a steady pace, his mind filled with thoughts of the herd and Noda and the old herd and his dam and Liona and Minnah and Ragnorak and everything that had happened over the past few days. Everything had changed so quickly. He swiveled an audit, keeping one back to pick up any noise from Noda, the other turning like a radio dish, picking up on the other sounds as he walked. It was rather quiet, a good time for thinking. Why had Minnah been acting the way she had? If he was thinking with the part of his brain he tried not to think with, he'd say that Minnah was another cruel mare that didn't like Noda and was trying to get Noda gone. However, that was the same part of his brain that said he should've turned Noda away, so he decided to ignore all thoughts about Minnah until after he returned. His thoughts then flitted to Rock, and once he resolved those, they went to Liona and the old herd, and lastly landed on Noda. As bea- normal as ever. He didn't dare look back, as he was afraid she'd get uncomfortable, or something would happen and she'd send him back. He wanted to come along, wanted to help, and wanted to see if his dam was still out there, as well. Somehow, though, his thoughts always trailed back to the blood Bay mare trailing not too far behind him. Her refined features and beautiful pelt. Gah, he thought it- still, what was wrong with him. 2 years to get over someone who had abused him and hurt him, and he still was acting like a 3 year old, doe eyed colt. He sighed inaudibly, both audits flicking back as Noda spoke. The silence had become a little oppressing, so he was open to conversation. Ripp considered her question for a moment before dropping back slightly so he was in line with her and talking would be easier. "Wander alone? Not too terrible long. I left just before I turned three, I think... maybe a couple months? I probably wandered for about 3 months, then I found a couple mares over the course of 5 more months. My herd was complete by the time I was 3 and a half, but after that, I kept wandering, always in search of better grazing and water. Periodically, I'd leave the herd to search for places. It was only when I was 4 that I found the place the herd is at now- we've been there for just over a year." He explained, his orbs flitting to her for a moment.

Well, crazy must like company because I use it in my daily life, too!
And agreed! XD We have taken care of the drama part, now we actually need the romance part to catch up lol! )
.
Noda watched his body language, and felt as though she could relax as he seemed to accept her invitation for conversation quite willingly. He slowed his pace so she could catch up, their frames close enough to send a small wave of heat to flush the mare's features. She was thankful her naturally red comlexion could hide the slight embarassment she felt getting flustered at something so mere. She tried to focus hard on his words while forgetting their proximity. She listened and she soon realized just how quickly the stallion had grown up and assumed responisbility of others. Many young studs were much more selfish in their reasonings, but with the lack of offspring or foaling mares within his own herd, she felt confident in choosing to believe he had more honorable intentions ... however, that did strike up another question for her to ponder on. "Do you ever regret taking on a herd so young?" She asked as politely as she could phrase the question, daring to meet his gaze if he ever turned towards her. "I mean, losing that freedom to just disappear ... and go anywhere you wanted as you deemed fit for yourself, rather than wagering the region's capabilities to sustain a group rather than one sole horse?" There was a little longing in her voice as she spoke.
.
In the time she had been awake and could remember, Noda had been like a trapped bird, behind the bars of someone commanding her to stay in place. As the idea of this journey sat at the forefront of her mind, there was a slight excitement in her gait and she seemed more wide eyed; and dare she say ... happy? Perhaps she just had a spirit that wished to roam? Or maybe it was simly the idea of leaving the stress and tension of Minnah and that palomino stallion in their wake that made her feel weightless. "I mean, I'm sure they are all good company and ideal to grow as a family." She hinted at that question that was eating away at her. Did he and Minnah have something between them? The dark mare most certainly seemed to believe so and she was very upfront about making sure it was known upon Noda's arrival. Sure, she would be an excellent candidate for a partner, but something in Noda's marrow just made her feel nauseous at the thought of imagining them together. She fixed her site on the path head, paying attention to the subtly parted grass that led them in the westward direction.

(Oh gosh- I was just randomly listening to music and a song called Dragula by Rob Zombie just randomly popped up and absolutely terrified me because he is known for making the most gruesome movies ever, and, like, 34 scenes just came to mind, and it is midnight XD. My brain is much too imaginative. Okay. Randomness over. Refocused.
The romance will come... it will come... LOL))
-
The dappled grey stallion twisted his head around to nip at his dark shoulder, as an itch had randomly came up, and twitching his shoulder hadn't helped. He straightened his neck out again and let his brown orbs wander the landscape as he thought. His pelt prickled slightly, but he ignored it, not wanting to turn their first normal conversation into another weird, awkward one. He tossed his mane, again a little annoyed his neck tended to get sweaty underneath his thick mane, especially when he was in the sun. He wondered if Noda was talking because she was genuinely curious, or if she was just bored. Did she actually want him here? He couldn't help but wonder if she had wanted him as a guide, or as real company. His audits flicked slightly as he thought about this, pondering a couple other questions as well. Sadly, he couldn't ask her most of them, as they were not relevant to this conversation, and would just make both of them uncomfortable. He couldn't ask about anything in her past, like what happened after he left, because she had forgotten it all. Was there anything else he was genuinely curious about that wasn't a touchy subject? Her voice Penetrated his thoughts, bringing him back to the present. He paused for a couple seconds, listening to her next words before letting out a small sigh. "I can't help but always feel slightly... trapped. A part of me wishes I hadn't, but I'm glad I did, as instead of making my life better, I made 5 other horse's lives better. " He gave the best answer he could- the most truthful, as well. Of course, he had always wanted to roam free, and honestly .. if another perfect amazing stallion came along that would devote their life to those mares, Ripp would be more than glad to escape. That valley was almost like a perfect prison. At her next comment, his audits flicked quickly with mild, mostly unnoticed surprise. He had, of course, put many hours of thought into that, but it wasn't like he could say the reason he decided not to have a romantic relationship with any of the mares was her. That would be a TERRIBLE idea. However, it would be weird if he didn't answer. Maybe. He wasn't quite sure. "I've never seen the need to grow emotionally attached to any of those mares." Was the entirety of what he said, as any further words on the matter would tilt the board one way or the other.

Lol! I'm listening to music LOUD rn as it's 2 am and I don't wanna hear any spooky noises in my house XD I like the slow romance. It's way more satisfying than how most nowadays rush into characters becoming mates and then romance posts after that just seem so artificial *shrugs* idk.)
.
"I see," Noda allowed the silence to once again entagle between the two of them as she felt an unexpected sting from his last words. Why did she care if he was emotionally unavailable? Just hours ago, she was ready to crawl out of her pelt in order to get away from him. Why was she suddenly how feeling so self concious and concerned for his particular interests? It's not like Riptide would just simply throw away his reservations about her anyhow. She couldn't forget that his unavailablility was probably her fault in some way from her actions in her previous life. She hadn't realized she had allowed a frown to take over her features.
.
Noda rotated her audits to flick around to the sounds around them as she continued to watch the trail in front of them. She forced her mind to think of anything over than the stallion - a task that seemed a tad more difficult than she would've liked to admit. Thankfully, the sound of rushing water began to trickle into her range and she picked up to an extended trot. It had been some hours since they had embarked, so the thought of water was a welcomed distraction. Flicking her tail against her hips, she passed the stallion and proceeded. She approached the water quietly and cautiously, taking in her surroundings to make sure that they were alone still. When she deemed fit, she dropped her head and allowed her muzzle to graze the surface of the water, and gently begin sucking in water. The sharp chill was welcomed as she swallowed, making sure to quench her dryness as there was no guarentee as to when they would find their next drink.
