Drake's dad entering his room broke him out of his thoughts. "Hey buddy, the Bears game is on in five." Drake stood up shaking his head, "I'll be down in a moment dad." His turned to leave, "You feeling alright body, good first day?" Drake walked to his bathroom, "Yeah, just thinking. I met a girl today and I just wanna be friends with her but we both know how I am." His dad gave him a comforting smile be heading downstairs. Drake used the bathroom and headed to the living room. He plopped down in the couch and watched some football with his dad. Jacob came down later and mom made some dinner. It was a nice easy night.

Most of Ella's night consisted of staying in her room, on call to her friends, changing outfits a million times to work out what looks better, and of course watching any series she came across. However, soon enough she was called down to have to eat with her family, something she usually only did when her grandparents were here. She had to rush to get herself changed out of bedclothes, and in the midst of doing so sent her previous snap of herself not to Daisy, but to the wrong person. You can only imagine who. Not having realised, she chucked her phone onto the bedside counter before heading down, settling herself firmly at the table across from her grandparents, play fighting with her sister whilst she waited.

As Drake walked upstairs to get ready when he check his phone, a snapchat notification from none other than Ella. He opened it up, and damn she looked pretty. He tousled his hair, sending her one back. He then got ready for bed, showering since he didn't want to the next morning. He climbed into bed with a book, Six of Crows, wanting to get lost in problems that weren't his own.

Just as Ella thought the night couldn't get any more insufferable, the meal was finally over and she was able to head back to her room. Ignoring the various calls from her parents to help clean up, she rushed back to her room and flopped back down on the bed, acting exhausted as if the meal had tired her out. Really it wasnt the dinner that made sucked some life out of her, it was the people she was eating with. She quickly got changed back into her bedclothes, and set her alarm with a sullen face, almost angry at the fact she had to wake up this early now. Even earlier so she could shower. After she had done everything she needed to do, she climbed into bed, put the tv on and picked her phone back up, happy to be away from her lecturing family. Ella's eyes widened as she spotted Drake's name through the list of notifications, swiping onto the chat. Of course she had sent him the snap instead of Daisy, who had spammed her about being left on opened about a million times. Ella opened the snap of Drake, her eyes lingering on the picture of him for longer than they should have, before sending a slightly blank half-face back, and chucking her phone on charge. Hopefully if she slept earlier, the embarrassment would be gone. No chance.

Drake woke up with his book on his chest, but he didn't hear his alarm. Checking his phone, it was 5:30, he definitely should go back to sleep. When he woke again, it was to his alarm, at 7:30. He got out of bed and got ready for the day. Today he wore light pink shorts and a light blue t-shirt. He could pull off the light pink since he was tan, and it didn't look flesh colored on him. He put on white air max 270's because he was going to the gym after school and didn't want to crease a pair of jordans. He walked downstairs with his backpack after doing everything to get ready in the bathroom. He ate a bowl of cereal and herded Jacob into the car.

Ella had been close to tears throughout getting ready the whole morning. It was way too early for her to be waking up and be..happy. After she had showered, dried and straightened her hair, and changed into pretty much the same clothes as yesterday just different colors, she headed out to the car. She really wasn't ready for another school day, and as much as she didnt want to admit it, the thought of spending the day with Drake was the ony thing keeping her from staying home. She waved a quick goodbye to her mom before reversing down the driveway, a solemn look on her face as she caught eye contact with her sister. It was her first day back at school, seeing as she had refused to go the same day as her, and Ella hated it. Having to even be around her all day was like torture.

Drake drove himself and Jacob to school, and parked. There was no longer the first day of school buzz and everyone looked a little less full of life walking in. Drake probably looked the same as he walking in, airpods in. They were running a little bit late, only having five minutes til class started, so he headed straight up to spanish. When he walked in, he found the new seating chart on the whiteboard. Tables of four, and he was with Ella, Cole, a baseball player, and some other girl who was talking to Ella, who looked very much annoyed. He sat down next to Ella and across from Cole, letting his backpack hit the floor.

Having Spanish first every day was Ella's very idea of hell. She sat at the desk, peering around at her new seating arrangement, giving a heavy, incredibly irritated sigh. If anyone ever asked her opinion on this lesson, her answer would be the same thing every single time- its useless. She put her head in her hands, ignoring whoever was talking to her, trying her best to block out ay chatter of the less lifelike people. However, when a bag hit the floor next to her, she was startled out of her thoughts, and she looked up ready to snap. Luckily, she didnt need to. "Oh hey" She smiled, looking at Drake for a split second, before staring back down at the table, focusing on tracing the patterns of various scratches.

i didn't even think about Ella's background when I made the schedule, i kinda just put in what i could think of and Drake doesn't strike me as a french guy :) sorry that i've been slow i have a big english project rn and i was outta town with my grandma :)

Drake returned Ella's greeting before getting comfortable, or as comfortable as he could in his stiff and small school chair. He liked being tall but this was not one of the reasons why. Drake had always liked their spanish teacher in the past and that was because he didn't give a damn. They just went through class doing stuff from last year, and boring worksheets to 'get their spanish brains going again.' Luckily class went by quickly talking to Cole. Ella on the other hand seemed downright miserable, she was clearly having a bad day already. Drake would ask her later when they weren't around a bunch of other people. She seemed happier though when they went to math. Drake's favorite class had always been math, and he was good at it which is why he was in an ap class this year. None of his other friends were as good at math so he was glad to have Ella. They were assigned seats in the back of the room, seated on, thank god for Drake, tall chairs.

The rest of the spanish class had bored Ella so much she was close to falling asleep by the end of it, a couple more minutes would have made sure that happened. Relief surged through her as the end of the lesson was announced, and she headed to maths a little happier. Not entirely, it was still math. But at least it wasnt Spanish, right? She settled herself in the seat next to Drake and shot him a smile, lingering eye contact with him purely by accident, before staring down at the table. Oh werent the patterns..so interesting? She badly wanted to say something, anything to Drake to break the upcoming awkwardness, but her brain was still waking up, and instead she glanced at him every now and then with a warm smile, or just to peer around the classroom.
