He chuckled and winced, "No,almost did though." Gale said,a gleam in his eyes.He removed the bandages,stabbing a needle into his skin and starting to sew the cuts shut painfully. |

Kayla kept watching him, staying silent now |

He stopped sewing for a moment,shutting his eyes and tilting his head down,continuing to shakily sew the cuts. |

"Do you want help?" She offered softly |

"No......yes." He admitted,taking the needle out |

Kayla smiled softly and moved next to him, taking the needle gently in her fingers and quickly sewing the way she'd been taught. "I told you about my brothers, but I never told you I fixed them to stay out of father's eye." She said quietly |

"Tell me about them then,give me something else to focus on." He says,clecnhing his jaw as she moved onto the area the king had cut,he went silent,head down,resisting the urge to run. |

Kayla smiled to herself as the memories flooded in, in a good way. "One time my two youngest older brothers, Hunter and Tom, were mock-fighting with real daggers. They had placed bets on who of them would win, and the servants in the garden thought it was pretty funny to see Hunter get cut up by his younger brother and be humbled quite a bit." She moved to start on a new cut. "Hunter came to me grinning from adreneline, but also very bloody. He was worried about our father finding him like that and scolding him, so he asked me to stitch his cuts closed. I agreed with the term ofhim never saying a word about my 'sneaking off', if that's what you want to call it." She murmured |

Gale just nodded in response as she talked,shifting as she moved onto the new cut. "Sounds like a bunch of idiots." He managed,gritting his teeth as the cut was on his side.Gale let out a shaky breath,focusing on everything but the cut now. |
