Sage kept just wandering around randomly. She always seemed to be able to figure out what he was thinking, so if he just ambled along without thinking, it would be impossible for her to do that. Though, he froze when he heard a noise...it couldn't have been Quinn. But someone was definitely there.

Quinn rolled her eyes. He might have finally gotten a little smarter... by not thinking. Quinn was great at predicting movements, especially those of animals. She had gotten to know Sage well enough she would have had fun predicting where he went... but he didn't. He didn't even think about it, he just went all over... which made it harder. Quinn kept following the trail, hoping she would hear something

Sage raised his head after a moment, sniffing the air uneasily. He smelled something sharp, and flicked his ears back and then to the side until he picked up breathing. Soft breathing...breathing that knew how to stay quiet. The only reason he could hear it was because he did it himself. When he was hunting. The realization hit him, and the moment it did, he snarled and hurled himself in the direction of the hidden figure. He heard a shot go off, and fell back with a pained yelp when he felt a sudden pain on his side. He scrambled back up panting and growling, his fangs showing and claws out. This was as wolf like as he could get...muscles taunt, ears flat against his skull, nails in claws and teeth definitely sharp canines. The hunter emerged quickly, and sage flew at him again, though the man just hit him over the head. He shook blood out of his eyes, though by then the man had gotten a muzzle over his head he couldn't get off. It was locked somehow. Panic started to set in then...this man was obviously good at what he did, and sage could fight fine, but he'd been shot. He was hurting, and he didn't know what organs could have been hurt. He was bleeding a lot anyway, so he was slowing down already. And...he had no idea where Quinn was.

Quinn heard a yelp... then a shot. Panic flared in her chest as she dashed towards the hidden source, pulling out her daggers and preparing to throw. She saw a giant burly man hit Sage over the head... Sage was bleeding.. all the image shows flashed past in her mind. She raced forward and hit the guy like a bullet, knocking both of them over. Quinn stabbed him in the gut with her dagger, putting another one to his throat. "HOW COULD YOU..." she snarled, twisting the dagger in his stomach. With the fall the gun had been knocked out of his hands... and Quinn hoped he wasn't weaponless. Anger surged through her... he shot Sage... what if Sage died?

Sage was certainly glad to see the girl come running out of the undergrowth...she'd help him out. She'd take care of things. Because in all honesty, his vision was swirly and his head was pounding and he figured he was close to passing out. He would have helped quinn if he could...but all he could do was press a trembling arm to the wound and snarl at whatever needed to be snarled at through the muzzle. It was really just a response to the fear twisting his stomach...he was in defense now, not offense. He couldn't win a fight now.

The man hollered in agony, immediately going limp under Quinn... even if she probably weighed less than half of his weight. Quinn pinched a nerve in his neck to make him pass out, then bolted to Sage. She ripped off the muzzle, trying to not hurt him, tears forming in her eyes. "Sage... are you okay?" She managed. Quinn knew he wasn't okay... but she still felt like asking. She saw the fear in his eyes and felt like cutting off that man's appendages, then cutting out his tongue and making him eat it... then cutting off his ears... then letting him bleed to death. She was terrified and furious and sad at the same time, three emotions that didn't mix well.

Sage turned to Quinn with a snarl when she first grabbed the muzzle, not realizing it was her. Though once he saw her face he quieted down and let her work the muzzle off before practically leaping into her arms. She was just...comforting. He tried to catch his breath before answering her question, and blinked blood out of his eyes so he could look up at her. "dunno," he gasped, raising his hand to try and look at the bullet wound, though he was shaking, and his head was swirling, so he couldn't really tell how bad it was, so he sort of just looked up at Quinn. She could tell how bad it was...she could help him. He definitely needed her to. He was still terrified, but he forced himself to keep his hand off the wound so Quinn could tell what needed to happen. They'd have to get the bullet out and close the wound up somehow...but he wasn't a healer. He had no idea how to, except for digging it out with a dagger, which probably wasn't a good idea.

Sage was shaking in her arms.. this was definitely not good. -Okay Quinn... you heal... think up something...- she thought, looking at Sage. "Sorry about this.." She whispered, pinching the nerve that made people fall asleep. Quinn then whistled, calling Sahara over. She didn't Care how much this hurt him... Quinn dragged Sage into Sahara's back. He was passed out so it couldn't hurt too terribly much. Quinn knew she could not drag him back to camp on her own, and that's where all her tools were. She told Sahara to go back, then quickly did away with the man that hurt Sage. Quinn dragged him to a nearby lake... which took forever in her opinion. He must've weighed 300 lbs! Quinn finally dashed back to the camp site and found a blanket, laying Sage on top of it. She ran through the list in her head. First Quinn grabbed the small bag of supplies she had. She snatched a bunch of herbs, getting ready. Since it was a gut wound Quinn did the easiest thing.. cut Sage shirt down the middle to she could see the wound better. The bullet did not come out the other side... which was bad. Quinn rather would have wished it came out the other side... yes he would have two holes in him but he would not have a toxic metal bullet in him. Quinn knew this would hurt... she made double sure Sage was passed out, then smeared Dock all around the wound. She was sure it would completely numb his whole side. Quinn took a very, very deep breath before grabbing her pliers looking things (just to make it sound more scary XD) then grabbed a dagger. She slit the wound open a little further before reaching in with the 'pliers' and very carefully pulling the bullet out. (I have a feeling I either know way too much or way too little about this...)

(Lol, I probably know way too much about this too) Sage looked over at Quinn, slightly curiously, when she apologized. He wasn't sure what she was going to do...though, he did trust her. He was surprised when she reached for his neck, since he wasn't sure anyone had ever touched his neck except for his father putting various collars on him, so he wasn't a fan of people touching him there. Quinn didn't count...he trusted her...but even so he jumped at her touch, half twisting away before his eyes rolled up in his head and he passed out. He wasn't aware of much after that, but everything still hurt up to a certain point. He'd sort of just accepted that he could die....and if Quinn didn't do something, that would be sooner rather than later. He did trust her to care for him, though. But, if he lost too much blood, nothing she did would matter.

Quinn dropped the bullet onto the ground and took out a needle and thread. She poured some alcohol onto it (her kit has everything ... old school) sighing. Quinn knew the alcohol would sterilize the thread and needle by killing everything on it. This also meant it would kill a little of Sage's skin... not the most effective method. She took a breath and washed the wound out with water the best she could before stitching it up carefully, knowing he would bleed out of she didn't. Quinn put a wet cloth on top of the wound and pressed down for at least ten minutes, then just left it there and sank back. She was exhausted, as always that was disgusting... and it was even more disturbing when she knew it was SAGE she was sewing up. Quinn closed her eyes and took in shallow, shuddering breaths. Tears came back to her eyes... what if she didn't do a good enough job? What if the wound got infected? Quinn knew this would hurt but she couldn't leave the dock on any longer or it would start making his organs stop working. From what she could tell... the bullet hit no major things. It just went into Sage's muscle on his side... which meant it would hurt like the dickens, but no organ failure would occur. He might bleed out... or die of infection... or a bunch of other things, but it wouldn't be because of the actual bullet. Quinn took the dock off with her gloves, putting some Chervil on the wound and just... waiting.
