"Ah yes, because how could a perfect angel like you ever have an ego." Ajax snorted, his eyes glittering. "Hey! I know I have an ego, but it's not like I've gotten anything to inflate it! I didn't know what the word *compliment* meant before I met you!" He retorted. "Thanks... and you really think that?" Ajax asked softly

"I know, right? Don't I just seem all sunshine and rainbows?" Mercy said sarcastically, pulling away from him lightly. "Awh, I'm sorry. I should compliment you more. Here, I'll start now." She cleared her throat playfully, kneeling behind him on the couch and wrapping her arms around him gently. "Ajax, you're such a handsome, strong man. I love the way you make me feel. I love your sense of humor. I love the way you make me smile." She listed off effortlessly. "There. Compliments conplete." She said teasingly, pressing her lips to his head gently. "Of course I mean it, Ajax. I don't say things I don't mean."

Ajax chuckled a little, then tilted his head. "Hm, you compliment me? Sure, I'm ready." He joked, raising his eyebrows and listening. His eyes softened a little as it seemed it wasn't especially... hard to think up things. "Seriously Mercy, you did that effortlessly. I'm sur eno one else on the planet could do that." Ajax pointed out with a snort. "But really, handsome? You finally admit it?" His tone became teasing as he grinned. "Well, thank you a lot. It is my turn now, since I do appreciate what you said. Soooo- you are a very capable and beautiful woman, if head stubborn yourself at times. He make my day, every day, and make every moment of my life worth living. I could not imagine a world without you." Ajax sounded completely serious after his first tease.

Mercy shook her head. "It isn't hard if you know the person you love." She said softly, giving a faint shrug and gently turning him around. She was sitting on the armrest of the couch, looking up at him with a smile. She rolled her eyes and nodded. "Yes, you are my very handsome, very strong, very brave man." She chuckled, watching him as he spoke. Her smile just wouldn't wipe off her face once he finished, and she tilted her head up at him slightly. "I love you." She said simply, standing and wrapping her arms around him tightly, laying her head on his chest and closing her eyes.

Ajax chuckled a little, nodding slowly. "I can get used to this... handsome, brave, and strong? I can feel my ego growing." He joked with a smirk, his navy bue eyes endlessly glittering. He tilted his head a little and wrapped an arm around her shoulders, blowing out a small breath. "I love you too, Mercy.." He paused and smiled slyly. "And I knowww you understand just how DIFFICULT it is for me to say that knowing what I've been through." Ajax sighed dramatically

Mercy nodded lightly, opening her eyes. "Yes, that's what I said. Don't let it go too far to your head." She teased, smiling as he wrapped his arm around her. "Yes, of course. How could I forget your tragic backstory? Thank you so much for being strong enough to love me." She joked.

Ajax plastered a smug smile on his face. "Yup, not getting to my brain at all, as you can tell." He snickered, grinning. "Exactly! You are very welcome, glad to be of service." Ajax chuckled. His eyes twinkled as he smiled, then glanced outside. "Oh- c'mon." He sounded excited all of a sudden, grabbing Mercy and cradling her in his arms. Ajax went out the door and to the lake quickly, just in time for the sun the start setting, lighting up the sky with brilliant orange, red, blue, pink, and yellow colors. Ajax then put Mercy down and promptly sat down, leaning against a tree. The sun's colors reflected off the lake to create a truly beautiful scene, glittering and shimmering everywhere. "Just wanted to get here in time to see the sunset. It is truly beautiful here, isn't it?" Ajax smiled, the red's reflectining in his dark eyes.

"Oh no, definitely not." Mercy chuckled sarcastically, smiling up at him. "Wha- Ajax!" She started, but she was laughing as he promptly picked her up. She wrapped her arms around him and laid her head on his shoulder as he walked. "Y'know, you should do this more often. I think I deserve to be carried all the time." She joked, only partially serious. She glanced around as she got set down, cuddling right back up to him when he sat beside her. She glanced up at him as he spoke, smiling and laying her head on his shoulder. "It really is. Thank you for taking me."

"Right, you deserve to be carried so the injured old man can haul you around everywhere and waste away in skin and bone." Ajax said wryly, grinning. "You're very welcome. It was my pleasure."" He smiled, looking back as the trees turned to shadows and the sun illuminated the water even more. Orange rays shone through the green foliage, flickering everywhere over the grassy clearing and the yellow sand. "Sunsets here are always the best. I used to enjoy them when I was building this cabin." Ajax mused with a twinkle in his dark eyes, looking quite pleased with the situation.

Mercy nodded. "No matter the circumstances. You get to carry me everywhere now." She teased, pressing a light kiss to his cheek. After, she let out a happy sigh and settled against him, looking out at the gorgeous scenery. "I've never seen anything quite like this. I swear, I could stay here forever." She mused softly.
