Anya nodded quietly and looked around the little tavern. For such a small place, it seemed so... homely. Well, it would be if it wasn't the life line of drunks across the village. The thought of alcohol and people had started to scare her by now. Sages father, the drunks on her first night out, and the smell if the men the night prior... it didn't seem like anything good came of the stuff. The girl huffed before and standing up and wandering over to the little closet and peered over Sages shoulder curiously, "need a hand?" She asked with a grin.

Sage glanced back at Anya and shrugged with a grin. "You can help if you want. Try and find something fun." He lept out of the way as a pile fell, over, making an even biggers mess. "Well, as long as you don't mind possibly having something land on your head," he joked. "It's a little bit like a mountain that's about to have an avalanche," he laughed as he burried deeper into the piles of the closet.

Anya nodded before kneeling down just next to him, taking out a few boxes at a time before going through them, avoiding the large mounds that were falling out the closet. A few had some interesting looking whiskey glasses, which looked like they hadn't been touched in years... others had old aprons, lost items, though nothing of value, and finally a few board games. Nothing overly interesting. Naughts and crosses, chess and cards. All things that were normally used to make money... but it would be fun to play with Sage. He had said he didn't really know how to play any games, so maybe Anya could have a got at teaching him. She picked up a few of the plain boxes and wandered over to a little mar in front if the fire with a grin. "These could be fun!" She called over to him before beckoning him to the space in front of the fire.

Sage stood up with a grunt and a nod, walking over to the fire beside Anya. "What did you find?" He was curious about what she had found...he had as much of as an idea as what was in that closet as she did. As in pretty much nothing. Except that it was currently a mess. He sat down next to her and looked down at the boxes she held.

The girl glanced from Sage to the boxes with bright eyes. "A few games. They were in some sort of lost properly box, I think." She shrugged, placing them down carefully. "Naughts and crosses, chess and a box of cards. They're all pretty boring unless you're playing for something, but I'm sure that we could make some fun out of it some how." She shrugged as she opened a small packed of cards. Before looking up at him. "You know any card games? There's a bunch we could play with these." She shrugged lightly.

He shook his head as he scanned the boxes. "I can play chess and rummy, since those two are pretty popular in the tavern. I don't know how often I've actually played them, but I know how to." he thought for a second, and then grinned. "We should play for something dumb, just to make it funny. Like we both actually want an eraser or stick or something like that, but really we're just screwing around." It was a silly, childish thought, but playfully arguing over who would win something like a leaf or stick seemed entertaining to him. He played for actual things like money or food or jewelry when he could, though you had to put something in to play, and since he didn't have much he didn't want to waste anything. Playing for fun seemed much more enjoyable.

Anya grinned and dealt out the cards, her face lightly lit up by the roaring fire as her hair fell lightly over her face. "We can play rummy." She nodded, "But if I win, I want a rock. The ugliest one you can find." She scoffed, her face going serious as though she actually wanted this rock, starting to play along with his little idea. It would be fun... getting competitive over something meaningless. She shifted a little so she was sitting on her side before meeting his eyes, her once playful gaze going a little more competitive... cold as she played along. "What're you wanting?'

Double again lol)

Sage laughed and pointed at her. "You're on." He gave her a cocky grin. "But you might have to go find me a rock then if I win," he giggled. So they were playing for an incredibly ugly rock. It was entertaining, for sure, and he had a feeling the playful competitiveness would also be fun. It would be nice to play it without having to make sure he won. And besides, he wasn't going to lose anything in the game. Except maybe a teeny bit of his pride, though he supposed Anya had carried him around like a baby doll so that wasn't even an issue. It was all fun, and they were in a pretty warm room, that was quiet and just the two of them. He knew Lizzie might stop by later, but she had been focusing on collecting and drying as many herbs as she could before the snow killed them all...she liked to help people. By drying out the herbs, they lost a lot of nutrients, but it was better than nothing.

(would it be way too cruel to have lizzie get sick and die, just so sage has to figure out what to do with his life without her lol? I love her but at the same time i want to throw that at sage's face a bit DX)

Anya twitched her nose with a grin before agreeing. "Right!" She grumbled once she had given them their ten cards each and set the rest out. She gave him a short nod to tell to him to go once she had peered over her own cards. They started to get into the little game... the competitiveness making it get louder and louder as they went on, filling the cozy tavern with a little more good natured spirit rather than the rowdiness of the towns men.
