My back has been a canvas more than once. And one thing you can do with a canvas, is paint over it. My knees buckled ages ago, leaving the rope holding me up alone to cut open my wrists. The whip striked again, tearing open my flesh once more. It seared everytime it hit, and the cut across my face stung like a wildfire. Eventually the cracks became rythmic, all to try and get me to turn over my kingdom. I. Will. Refuse.

I have been locked in this cell for thirty-six days. I've heard eight dead people's voices. I haven't eaten in two weeks. They're starving me to death at this point, pain wouldn't get me to tolerate, so perhaps death will. I'm familiar with death, i've been chased by it's often. I swear you can hear it, but perhaps that's only the voices talking to me.

The man (whom I still have not learned his name) coiled the whip up, splattering the blood on the ground, collecting with the rest of it. He walked over and cut the ropes, my body falling forward before my head met stone, knocking me smooth out into nothingness.

Kayla continued until she heard boots going down a hallway. she put Malakai in the makeshift baby backpack she had as she also grabbed a knife. She siezed the man as he walked around the corner and she pressed the knife to his throat. "Where is Gale?" She snarled
