"All we've gotten was that he made the poison before making a deal and trading a box of it for shillings to pay for his family's home, that's it." One of the guard's muttered, the medic backed into one of the corners, fear in his eyes.

She grabbed a tri-dagger and held it up for the medic to see. "See this gorgeous thing? I love how elegant and deadly it looks in the light--reflecting those sharp edges. You know, you bleed out within seconds with little to no suturing success" She explained, face blank as she approached the medic. She pointed it at the medic, face unchanging. "I will not ask again before striking. Where is the King, my husband, the father to the prince?"

"I told you I don't know! If I did I would've told you! I wouldn't be here if I knew!" The man managed, eyes widening even more. "I don't know, where the King is."

"Liar" She snarled, going to stab themedic before stopping the dagger an inch from their head. "Lock this one up too. We need to find the king. Understand?" She snapped at the guards

The man yelped, flattening himself against the wall as he flinched, following the guards before being thrown in a cell, just like his King.

I have no been locked up for seventeen days. I have seventeen bones broken. A new day, a new break. My wrists are raw from the chains, and I can barely lift my head when the voices start talking again. I haven't slept for more than an hour, and I keep hearing Kayla, yet I know it's not her. The poison still lingers, and my skin is still burning, as well as my insides. Sometimes it feels like i'm on fire, or getting whipped. Speaking of, that's happened four times. I. Will. Survive.

Kayla anxiously kept galloping the streets and trying every trick and tactic in the book to find Gale but nothing was working. She would never give up but she was falling into a depression, a dangerous one. SHe kept Malakai attatched to her side at all times, wary of him

My dearest Kayla, I don't know how much longer I can do this. I saw outside a window today, it was snowing, and we were on the bank of a sea. I don't know where it is, but it's north, far, far, far north. Please, get me out of here. I'm trying to ensure you i'm fine but, I don't know how much more I can take before I give out. Tell Malakai I love him. Yours, Gale

Every day Malakai asked about his dad and every day Kayla always answered the same. 'He loves you so much and will be home soon". She cried at night when she wasn't planning or having meetings or watching Malakai sleep peacefully. Once the letter came, she knew she needed to go north and leave the kingdom in the hands of the general.
