The assignment was to create a portrait of someone, using bright colors in oil paints. Naturally, he did Emery. And on a really large canvas. He wasn't done yet, so he covered up the painting with an old table cloth so it would be a surprise for her. There was paint in his hair, on his face and all over his arms as he washed his paintbrushes in the kitchen sink. "Hey, baby," he replied, smiling over at her when she came back.
