Her father took his hand and shook it, giving him a hand-crushing handshake. "Hm." he hummed thoughtfully, watching the two of them. Her father offered his hand to Lorelei, "Come in, sweetpea, lets talk about this," he said gently, leading the two of them into the mansion and to one of the many living rooms.

Kai, weary, dropped Lorelei's hand and followed the pair. He was hyper-aware of the many snipers around, watching his every move and knowing one wrong move--even a misunderstanding--could kill him within milliseconds

Lorelei walked with Kai, following her father. Her father sat in his leather chair on one side of the living room, while Lorelei settled on the couch with Kai. "Is he good to you?" he asked Lorelei. She nodded. "Hes wonderful to me, daddy. I love him," she said sincerely. A moment of silence followed. "Do you plan on marrying my daughter?" he asked Kai, studying the man.

Kai nodded along to Lorelei's words until her father's question slightly surprised him. He was careful to not show emotion except for gratitude. "Yes, sir." He said smoothly

Her father nodded slowly, "Hm," he hummed contemplatively. "And how are you going to go about that? Make her a Vitelli? Make me her enemy?"

"No, sir, I wish my father dead." Kai said stiffly, grabbing Lorelei's had to steady the rage that began in his blood. Make your daughter my wife? Yes. Make her into aything like my family. Never. Kai wanted to yell these words in the man's face but his rational mind kept him seating and gently holding Lorelei's hand. "I want her as my wife, not as something like anyone in my family. She's not an object to me, sir, and certainly not something for me to train to hate her own father. With all do respect, sir, I would ratherrip my father to shreds than let him get his hands on her." Kai said, slightly snapping at the end. Again. Kai mentally corrected himself

Her father paused, staying calm. He gave him a calm nod and a small approving smile. Lorelei smiled, gazing at Kai as if he was something sacred that just fell from heaven. "Do you love her?" he asked.

|

|
"Yes, sir. More than my own life."

Her father nodded, "Very well then," Lorelei smiled, jumping up and running over to him. "Thank you daddy!" she squealed.

Kai stood, nodding in gratitude.
