"Is there another way to get out of this marriage, like objections or something like that?" He asked as he desperately was trying to search for an answer

She thought for a moment, sighing. "An objection could be made, but it's likely that would only postpone it, if that. There's nothing we can do, and it isn't like I can reject him. I don't have a choice. There's nothing short of a miracle or a war that could stop this if it's my parent's will." She said hopelessly, leaning into him.

Kennedy visbily wilted at her words, he hung his head down onto her shoulder. "Okay then..." He said quietly with a shakey voice, he had given up, there was no other way he could think of to get her our of this situation. He was going to lose Mercy and that was final... So he took a deep breath and decided that from now on, he needed to distance himself from Mercy so he could slowly learn to let go of her.. "Mercy... If there really is no way then.. I think we should stop seeing eachother for awhile now.. Until after the marriage is over" He said quietly while lifting his head up to look at her

She blinked at him in shock, tears welling in her eyes. She swallowed, looking at him in disbelief. She turned her head away from him and tears started to pour down her face. She yanked her body away from him, holding herself firmly and trembling slightly. Her voice shook as she spoke. "Well then. If that's what you want." She said, getting up and grabbing his shirt from the floor, throwing it at him. "Then go." She said quietly, walking off to look out the window with her back to him.

Kennedy was honestly not very surprised by the way she reacted but it did pain him to see her start to cry again and yank away from him. He desperately wanted to pull her back in but he restrained himself from doing so. As she threw the shirt he caught in it in his hands while standing up "Mercy, come on don't be like this..." He said while walking over to her "This is the best choice for the both of us... Don't act like this right now" He said to her while going to reach for her hand

She snapped her hand back, refusing to look at him and crying silently as she looked out the window. "You said it yourself, Kennedy. You don't think we should see each other. So, go." She snapped.

He drew his hand back at she snapped hers away from him, he stood in silence as he listened to her cold snappy tone. After she spoke he took a deep breath "Your right, I'm sorry for staying any longer..." He said while turning and pulling his shirt on, then walking over to his shoes "Hope the banquet goes well for you.." He spoke quietly before walkign over to the door and opening it "Have a nice marriage... Hope he treats you well" Kennedy said giving her one last glance then walking out the door and heading down the hall, he still had work to do today but he knew that Mercy wouldn't dare step foot in the garden today... Escpecially with what he said

"I would take that ribbon off. And maybe invest in some makeup to cover those hickies." She added quietly, stalking back over to her bed and burying herself under blankets before grabbing a pillow to cry into. Skip to the banquet, maybe?))

Yeah)) Kennedy bit his lip at her last words before yankign the ribbon off his neck and holding it in his hand. Finally tears started to pour down his face as he continued to walk down the hall ~ Kennedy had a sour look on his face as he somehow found himself sitting in the banquet at a table with Geoffrey, who brought him as his plus one. Since Geoffrey grew fond of him he wanted Kennedy to experience a banquet

Mercy hadn't made any appearances in the Worker's Quarters since the announcmenet of her engagement to be. At the moment, she was standing in a groupd that contained her Mother, Father, multiple nobles, and Xander. She was in a dark, midnight blue dress that shimmered with small diamond looking studs. She had on matching eyeshadow and black winged eyeliner, her hair up in an intricate bun that had a curl framing one side of her face. She had a small crystal glass of champagne in her hand, smiling and laughing whenever nescessary at the horrible jokes made around the group. Xander was standing beside her, and he had an arm wrapped around her waist.
