Mari weaved in and out of the people for a little while before looking about. It got a little bit busier now... it had a nice feeling. The world was a bit buzzy, but it was nice... funny. She enjoyed it. She liked the more lively nature of it all. She eventually found herself talking to one of the bar tenders, having quite the wonderful chat with him. Though, she soon wandered off towards her table again. Once she'd found it, she gave a smile before holding up their drinks happily, though soon noticed the other woman trying to slide into her husbands lap. She frowned and pattered over, gently placing the drinks on the table before shooting a glare towards the woman, trying to meet Sages eyes. She might have to fight for him... just a little bit.

Sage felt instantly relieved when Mari came into his vision, and he sort of just ignored the other woman as he greeted Mari. "Hey babe," he chirped, hoping the woman would leave once he completely ignored her. He reached for the drink, though the other woman reached over to grab his face, bringing it around to face her. Sage was quite obviously not a fan of someone other than Mari touching him like that, and his instinct was to lash out. So, that's what he did. He snapped at the woman's hand, since it was right there, and touching him. At that, her eyes flashed angrily and she slapped him across the face, rather hard. The blow smarted, and even though the world was fuzzy, Sage seemed to raise hackles he didn't have. He'd like nothing more than to hit her back, send her reeling...he knew he could, quite easily, but this wasn't exactly the place for that. A guy hitting a girl was one thing, but someone of his rank hitting someone higher than him was another. So, he sort of glanced at Mari, trying to figure out what to do.

Mari smiled happily at the boy in his little comment and happily pecked his lips. She was a little bit out of sorts, not really noticing when the other woman had placed a hand on Sage, so she went to sit down. "Hey handsome," she chirped happily, her voice slightly louder than she probably intended. After another few seconds, she heard the loud smacking ricochet that the sounds of the slap gave off, and then she saw the redness swelling on her husband's cheek. Her eyes narrowed at the woman as she jumped up from where she was sitting, marching up the woman and without missing a beat, she drew a hand back to strike her right across the face. She was dimly aware that she shouldn't really be hitting anyone... especially not someone who seemed to be fairly high up compared to her rank-wise... but she'd just hit Sage. What was she supposed to do? Sage wasn't about to hit the woman herself. Once the woman had stumbled back, Mari just stared at her before turning to Sage, looking over his face carefully, just making sure he was still alright.

Sage smiled slightly at the girl when she turned to him, patting her gently. "It's alright...I'm fine," he promised. He looked over at the other woman, who was stalking away, and looked back to Mari with a chuckle. "I've never seen you hit anyone before," he noted with amusement. "It was pretty hot," he hummed. Oops, he hadn't really meant to say that. Oh well. Mari had just hit someone, so either they were both completely out of their minds or they were just bold. Either way, she wouldn't not take it. He patted the seat next to him with a light hum. "Why don't we finish these and then head back," he suggested. It was getting late anyway.

Mari let out a sigh of relief when he assured her he was fine. She was really very glad. She wasn't overly clear on what had happened... all she knew was that some random person had hit Sage, and she had an overpowering whelm to care for him... if it meant reddening some cheeks and breaking some noses, then she wasn't at all opposed to it. Sage was hers... and she'd care for him until the end, even if she was slightly tipsy. She plopped down in the seat next to him with a happy smile, her cheeks rosy and her grin slightly sloppy. "Shh you can't say that," she murmured to him. "And I don't hit people as often as you do," she added with a giggle.

Sage giggled slightly, eyes glittering in the faint tavern light. "Why not? We're married," he chirped. "I could be saying much worse things," he pointed out, honestly finding it all very funny about how offended he could make...well, probably everyone here. Except maybe Mari. He slipped at his drink again happily, letting out another giggle at her second comment. "Does that make me especially hot," he teased her with a light chuckle. They were definitely a little bit giddy by then....by the time they drank these glasses they should definitely head home. Their fun would carry over, especially if they were still in this mood, which was probably what would happen. They were definitely in a...fun mood, to say the least.

Mari gave a chuckle, her smile only growing. "We're in public!" She told him with a small laugh, though she pouted thoughtfully after a moment or two. "But I don't suppose I'd mind hearing those worse things," she mused lightly. It was very busy here... and more woman dresssed in very flamboyant but little clothing had showed up. She supposed they were the kind of people to work here... only, they seemed more than eager to get their job done. She wrinkled her nose at his comment, and moved to press a happy kiss to his lips. "That makes you extra hot," she agreed to him with a giggle. Once they finished these, she'd go get another something cherry to bring back to the house with them.

Sage giggled lightly in response to her comment, shrugging along with his laugh. "So? I don't care if they want me to stay quiet. You're hot and they can deal with it," he declared happily. He grinned at her other comment though, humming happily at her third comment about him being hot. He had really just been joking around, but he certainly want going to argue with her and have her change her mind. Besides, he liked hearing her talk like that to him...it made him feel rather proud of how he was doing with this whole love thing. They finished their drinks rather quickly, and they each grabbed another for the way back. Or at the vacation home, whichever happened. They headed off soon enough...it was dark out, but surprisingly safe. That was probably a good thing though, since both of them were a bit out of it by then. Not super drunk, but definitely giddy.

Mari felt her already bright cheeks reddening slightly at his first comment. She wasn't really used to him talking like this, but it was amusing all the same. "Sage!" She squeaked to him, though her smile was still insanely bright. She wasn't really a fan of the whole hitting and punching people thing, but she had to admit that when Sage did it, in effort to look after her and her little family, she could deal with it a fair... and when he came out victorious, she couldn't deny it was attractive. Very attractive. "Save it for later," she giggled lightly to him. She got another drink in a plastic cup, sipping it lightly as she wandered around. She was excited, very excited about everything. Maybe it was just because of her giggling, though. It was dark, but warm and comfortable, so they were back to the house in good time.

Sage felt his grin grow even wider when the girl's cheeks reddened. He let out another delighted giggle at her squeak. He hummed lightly at her other comment and nodded. "Fine, but you'll hear it later," he chirped. Why not talk like they thought for a while? They were alone, and on their honeymoon....they could sweet talk each other if they wanted to. The sound of the girl giggling next to him on the way home brought on his own laughter, until both of them were really just giggling around at nothing. They were still giggling by the time they got back to their room, and he set his now empty cup down on the table. He waited for mari to set her cup down as well before bouncing over to her and wrapping his arms around her with a giggle. "Can I say you're hot now," he hummed lightly, pecking her neck lightly from where he was standing behind her.
