He read along as she spoke the scroll out loud, as soon as he finished reading he froze up. As he didn't know what to do or even think at the moment, he stood up out of bed and throwing his pants on, then pacing around the room "No... this can't be real..." He mumbled quietly to himself before stopping in the middle of the room and crouching down "I should've known something like this would happen..." He took long deep breaths trying to get the panic to settle down inside of him. he wished that it whatever he had just read wasn't real

Mercy curled up quietly, looking distraught as tears began to stream down her face. She curled her knees to her chest, laying her head down on her knees. She began to cry quietly into herself at his words.

Kennedy held himself together from having a full blown meltdown, as he got himself together he looked over at Mercy. When he saw the look on her face and the tears he instantly walked over to her, sitting on the bed, and pulling her into a hug. He wasn't sure what to do or say in this situation, all he knew was that when the banquet arrived he would be losing Mercy...

She wrapped her arms around him as he hugged her. She held onto him tightly, crying into his shoulder. She had no words, she was too... distraught.

He held her back as closely and tightly as he could not wanting to let her go "Shhh... Don't cry.. Don't waste your tears on this.." He spoke softly and calmly to her while rubbing her back with his hand

She did her best to stop crying, lifting her head up to press her cheek against his, tears still running diwn her cheeks. "I- But, I-" she tried, failing and falling into silence.

He pressed his head against hers as she brought it up against his cheek. When she tried to speak but went back to silence he moved his head back and used a hand to gently move her face to look at him. He cupped her cheek and used a thumb to wipe away tears that poured down her face "It's going to be okay... please don't cry anymore" He spoke quietly to her while tilting his head forward and pressing his forehead to hers

She nodded quietly, sniffling and closing her eyes, running her hands up and down his back anxiously.

He smiled at her softly as he moved the other hand to hold her other cheek. He held her face in his hands before giving her a light kiss on the forehead "Now... Is there anyway to persuade your parents to not have this marriage?" He asked calmly

"No. They'll get what they want whether I agree or not." She sighed, placing one of her hands on his and looking at him sadly.
