Kennedy smiled at her words "I'm glad you are" He mused quietly before placing a soft kiss on her neck. As she stroked his hair he let out an occassinal hum or purr as he enjoyed the feeling, his eyes drifted shut as he felt himself getting drowsy and warm from her touch

"Good night, my love. Sleep well." She whispered, giving him a kiss on the head and slowly drifting off to sleep herself.

"Good night baby" He mumbled tiredly giving her one last kiss on the neck before instantly falling asleep.

It was around Dawn the next morning when there was an adrupt knock on her door. She let out a quiet groan and gently pulled herself out of his grasp, leaving him with a kiss on the forehead. She walked to her dresser and threw on a white robe, tying it around her waist and walking up to the door, making sure to shield the bed from sight. A servant handed her a scroll and then turned and walked off. She huffed, closing the door and walking back over to sit on the bed with him, stroking his hair absentmindedly with her hand.

Kennedy woke up as he heard a knock on the door, he huffed as Mercy pulled out of his arms. He rolled onto his side with his eyes cracked open slightly as he watched her open the door then come back over. He stayed quiet for a long while before shifting closer to her and placing his head in her lap, he brought his gaze up to her "Who was that?" He asked tiredly

Mercy smiled and rubbed his head gently. "Just the announcement my parents want me to see." She shrugged, booping his nose with the edge of the scroll.

Kennedy smiled and tilted his head up into her hand "Oh okay... Can I see as well?" He asked while scrunching up his nose at the boop

"Of course." She smiled, lifting her hand away from him to untie the red ribbon keeping it together. She put the scroll down and gave him a mischievous smirk, gently tying the ribbon around his neck so it ended in a bow, like a bowtie. "Perfect." She giggled, picking the scroll up again and opening it to read it. Her face fell and she read it over a few more times, blinking in disbelief.

Kennedy watched as she opened the scroll then was confused when she put it down, he looked over at her face and saw the look she was giving him "Oh boy.." He said with a small smile before waiting to see what she would do. After she tied the bow he rolled his eyes but let it stay. He again went back to waiting as she picked up the scroll and opened it, when her face dropped he sat up quickly in concern "What is it? What does it say?" He asked a bit worried while leaning next to her shoulder to read what was on the scroll

She blinked at the scroll blankly, not looking away from it to answer. Tears welled up in her eyes slightly as she read out the words at the top of the page in a numb tone. "The Arranged Engagement of Prince Xander Folley of Triton and Princess Astoria Windsor IV of Engand." She said quietly, tossing the paper down.
