"That would make a lot of sense." He said, slowly. He kept his eye contact, not glaring but not smiling either. He thought back to things that had happened, the scream, the fear at the board, not wanting to be taken to the ER, not having anyone to call, it all made so much sense now. He looked at her, blinking for the first time in a while.

"It's me" she blurted, her eyes glazing over as she watched him. "I'm the terrible thing. I'm the creature that people turn horror stories toward. I'm the reason people can't be happy" she leaned back against the tree, her eyes not breaking contact. She looked down. "You don't get scared easily right? Because I would imagine it would be freaky.." she took a deep breath, letting it out as her black wings appeared and unfolded from her back, the blue tops shimmering in the soft light. she stretched then let her wings catch the air as she footed out of the tree. She landed a ways away from him, her body concealed in the shadows.

He grinned at her. "You're what flew past me! And if I got scared easily would I be in the woods alone with a Ouija board?" He looked at her. "I don't think you're evil." He said. He looked at the ground. "When I use my Ouija board I never block on demons, I block off stuff with malicious intent. There's angels that have malicious intent and there's demons that don't"

"I wasn't what flew past you. A demon named Ridge and his partner Scout attacked me. They always pester me but this time was different. They are why- well Ridge is why I have these wounds. He attacked me" she stepped from the shadow and settled down on the ground a few feet away from Cade. "I would say I have no bad intentions but at the same time, I'm a demon for crying out loud. I was CREATED to be bad!" She rested her head in her hands "and my bright self told you, not that I think you would tell, but... you know... it's a hard earned secret that I just let out" she sighed and dug her fingers into her scalp. "I'm so dumb" she murmured, standing up and pulling off his sweater. "I have to go" she said as she lifted her wings. She flew for a second but she knew something was wrong. She glanced over to notice that a patch of her wing was missing, the feathers freyed and broken. She gracefully fell from the sky then crashed into the ground. "Ow" she muttered. "Ridge broke my wing" she whispered

Cade watched her silently as she flew away. He picked up the sweater she threw on the ground and grabbed his bag. He waited until he heard the crash of Saphire falling to the ground. He walked over to her and sat down. "Don't worry about me telling, I won't. Even if I did, no one would belive me." He looked at her wing, examaning the broken feathers. He looked up at her, trying to figure out what to say next. He sighed, settling into the ground. "I'm staying with you until your wing is healed."

"I can fend for myself, you know" Saphire said. "I'll be okay. Plus it's not safe for us to be near each other. The others could take you or worse and I can shift back to my human form. " she looked down at the ground then sat down. "The sweater won't fit not" she said with a playful grin

"We've spent a couple hour near each other and nothings happened to me yet." Cade shot back. "I get that you're a big scary demon but it's not like I can't fend for myself." Cade was, depsite being an 18 year old boy, quite good at fending for himself. He began playing with the grass on the forest floor, messing with it in his hands. "If I tear a couple holes in it it'll fit." Cade smirked.

"I don't think you understand..." she muttered then sighed. "Quite persistent, aren't you Cade? I would hate for you to tear your sweater" she joked half heartedly. Saphire had said that she was able to change back, but now she wasn't too sure. Sometimes her body would react differently than the others because of where she came from. Other demons weren't capable of changing between the human world and the underworld. Her mother was the reason. Her father had fallen for a human when he had been cast out of the underworld. They had Saphire but were killed shortly after, forcing her to come to the underworld and live there for the rest of eternity. Saphire glanced away from Cade. She had to keep her guard up at all times and not fall for anyone if she was to make sure the human race was protected. Saphires demon body could withstand the pressure of attacks, but her human body couldn't. When she changed from demon to human she had to fight to keep her wings in, her body fighting to stay human, but changing took great strength that she was quickly running out of. Switching from human to demon was harder than it sounded, but she had mastered the swiftness. Saphire stood and backed away. "Give me a second" she whispered, huddling behind a large oak tree. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath as she tried to make her wings disappear. The strength needed made her tremble, her hands shaking as she gripped onto the bark of the tree. She fell to the ground, her wings wrapping around her as they were a wall. "I can't change... I'm too weak"
