He simply watched her. She was rigid, closed off to him. She sounded a little accusatory, and rightfully so, but he wasn't exactly apologetic. More cautious this time. However he noticed she was far more genuine. "I would rather not. In fact, I apologize for that." He admitted, his hands moved with his words in a way that could be a gesture but it looked repetitive. That must be when the drink started to take its loose effect, he'd been to tense last time to use his hands.

"I don't accept your apology." Ariadne said flatly, watching her drink as though it were extremely interesting. "I could have had you arrested, you know. You can't just knock people out and leave them on a ballroom floor. That would be considered assault. Perhaps even treason, in this case." She said flatly, sending a side-long glance at him with a sigh. She thought for a few moments and then turned in her seat to face him. "Why?" She asked curiously, taking a sip of her drink.

He shrugged mildly, he didn't blame her really. The mention of arrest made him smile a little. This was no matter to laugh about but really, arrest wasn't the worst that could happen. Especially with what he assumed she was to the royal family. "I never assaulted you technically, no hallucinogens." He slipped into the conversation he was slightly anxious about. He didn't like how much he truly hadn't liked it that he left her like that. He had bo reason to, she was just a random girl. But she'd been so curious, it had been so innocent. It was like she didn't deserve it. "truthfully. Your skill in dance was intimidating and I was unsure if I could speak to you afterward." He confessed bluntly and blankly.

Ariadne raised her eyebrows coldly at his smile. She was beginning to like him less with every passing moment. Maybe her visual observations weren't quite as good as she thought? The idea that he was amused by her empire's law system and its consequences only furthered her distaste for the elf in front of her. "My country doesn't get stuck on technicalities. You forced me into unconsciousness against my will. I don't know if that seems like a serious offense to you, but it sure as hell is one to me. That's a violation of my dignity I can't forgive." She said, her voice not quite carrying emotion. Just... flat. Straight. Guarded. Perhaps the slightest bit wounded. At his answer, she stared at him blankly. Obviously, assuming he would brush his underwhelming reasoning away and reveal his true meaning. But he didn't. Once she realized he wasn't joking, she stared at him humorlessly. "You knocked me out because you didn't want to talk to me?" She muttered, her tone something similiar to disgust. "I'll have you know I'm quite the logical being. If you had simply told me I wasn't wanted, I wouldn't have forced you to converse with me. I don't generally stay where I'm not, at the least, tolerated by my company. Seeing as my presence is such a bother to you, I'll excuse myself before you feel compelled to dispatch of me some other way. Good evening, sir." She hissed, standing and turning on her heel to glide across the floor. It was hard to accept that someone was so desperate to avoid her company they would rather strip the possibility of conversation away over simply admitting it. Vance, of course, had been eyeing the pair at the bar for the length of their conversation. Something close to a smirk laid on his lips when Ariadne strode off, most likely to regain her dignity with a more traditional, vampirian suitor. He took a light breath and made his way to the seat she had just vacated, brushing at his ash grey suit with navy blue accents. His mask mirrored the coloring. He sank onto the old, elegant stool comfortably, picking up his sister's abandoned drink and downing it. "She can be a bit opinionated. It's all ego, if you ask me. I, personally, think that little fainting spell was quite the laugh. She's being dramatic." He shrugged, offering his new interest a smile. "But you don't need to worry, I'm here now. And I daresay I'm less temperamental company than her." He joked, obviously expecting a good reaction.

She left fast enough he didn't want to say goodbye. She spoke plenty for the both of them, half the words she said he didn't understand and honestly he didn't want to. She was angry and thst was understandable but she really didn't know what was going on that night. He didn't like these excursions and their parties. Ones back at home relied more on the music than chatting it up. All the time. Almost no-one was dancing even with the music plainly heard and the ballroom filled with people. He didn't do well with the talking. The stranger who took her place had a familiar baring. He guessed related to her, and with how he talked about her. Siblings. Definitely siblings. This one was probably the elder. He tilted his head, relaxing slightly onto the bar, one elbow on it. His hand loosely fidgeted. He smiled, pleased by the joking habits. Him and his sister seemed alike in some odd way. He tilted his head slightly, obviously ransacking this man's clothing. Admittedly those colors were good on him. "Regardless I do hope she can forgive me. It was a mistake in the heat of the moment." He shrugged, a calm demeanor. He squinted slightly. ".Siblings, yes?" He inquired evenly. He was analyzing this man as much as his former company.

Ariadne had found her place beside the blonde vampire from earlier. She seemed to have to problem conversing with the man, somewhat obviously flirting. Ocassionally she would brush her her hand down his arm, or set it on the back of his shoulders, even graze his hair as they spoke in what seemed to be a circle of younger diplomatic vampires, of some sort of high standing in Epirian society. The man didn't seem the least bit troubled- if anything, he had a delighted look on his face. Perhaps a bit smug. It did stand to say, the longer she sat in her circle conversing on the most boring territorial claims and gossip, she almost wanted to be back with her previous company. Even if he had effectively abandoned her, out cold, on the dance floor, at least he was... interesting. Vance shrugged, not seeming to mind that his 'in' with this man was his sister. He would take whatever opening he got. "Love, I'm afraid she's not exactly the forgiving type. She likes holding grudges. I'm sure if you plead the whole apology thing hard enough, maybe do a bit of groveling on your knees, she would forgive you. But really; why go through that trouble when the better of your two options is right here? And doesn't hate you? And will definitely shut up if it means not getting sung to sleep." He added lightly, a charismatic smile on his face. He was very similiar to Ariadne in looks; he just had a looser, easier personality about him. Then again, he was raised very differently from Ariadne. She was forced to act and speak the way she did in public. He had much lower expectations to live up to. He dipped his head in a light nod at the question. "Wonderful guess. It can be hard to tell, especially since she seems like an uptight son of a spring, and I'm likeable, but the eyes and hair do generally give it away." He grinned, showing off a slight dimple and two fang-like canines.

A smile crossed his face. Being called 'Love' from someone who looked- physically- a lot like the person who'd just left him in a frustrated and hurt rush, was a little odd. Mostly because it was a guy this time. His new companion was doing a good enough job the thought of it crossed his mind honestly. "Fair point," he used an elven word that losely translates to 'kitten'. He wasn't hugely sure about how he wanted to have this conversation. "My apologies, I am a little nervous about embarrassing myself. Do we exchange names from behind the masks or stay anonymous?" He asked curiously, wondering who these siblings were. He shook his head, chucing quietly. "I think it may have been the distain you speak of her with." Hard to explain the way you will outlandishly offend your siblings to the public and yet would give yourself for them. "I understand, I have a brother. We often get mixed up." He grinned. Appearing slightly to be struggling to keep eye contact with the handsome vampire. Edited at April 7, 2024 06:19 PM by Prismatic Cove

Vance tilted his head in pure delight as he was addressed as something. "Is that for me? What does it mean?" He asked curiously, fully expecting the answer to be pest, or something along those lines, which he was perfectly fine with. He tilted his head at the question, leaning in intently. "People here are too drunk to care if you're embarrassing yourself. They're also too busy embarrassing themselves. But to answer your question, generally, we stay anonymous. Theres obviously no set of rules keeping you from revealing your name, it just isn't customary at these kinds of parties. If you would like to tell me your name, I have no complaints." He grinned, giving a light shrug at his next comment. "Well, that does give it away, doesn't it?" He huffed, pretending to pout as he leaned back against the bar. It was broken with an utterly delighted smile as his companion mentioned a brother, having no problem with being too close, or with eye contact. His yellow eyes were practically brimming with joy. "You have a brother? You should have brought him. If he's nearly as appealing as you are, it would be a great time. And then my little Worm wouldn't be glaring at me for conversing with you, because she could be caught up with him. It's a shame, really. Say hi." He offered playfully, waving at his glaring sister from across the room. The sister, who hadn't even realized she was glaring until her brother waved. She fixed her expression and rolled her eyes, sticking her tongue out at him just slightly, almost imperceptibly so it wasn't easily noticed by others.

He grinned unevenly, looking away coyly. "Something about a baby cat." Tipping his head back, the silver tips clasped on both of his pointed ears glinted slightly. It might've just been his head moving but it looked like his ears moved when the flirtatious vampire began speaking. "I will keep my name to myself then." He averted his eyes, wanting mostly to fit in with this new crowd despite really wishing to know who these people were. Deciding to follow their customs. He looked amused by his eager eloquance. "Ahhh, my brother would have come but he has work to do so I try not to disturb him." He said simply as he gazed behind his company at the still sore girl. He waved in a more casual and whisper-like way. Looking indifferent. Edited at April 7, 2024 06:19 PM by Prismatic Cove

Vance raised his eyebrows at his companion's answer, watching his face and movement of his head. "Aw. A kitten? I personally prefer to believe I resemble a roguishly handsome devil; but kitten isn't the worst." He snickered, grinning again at his decision. "Very well. That's your choice." He shrugged, cracking his knuckles lightly. He made a fake gag at the mention of work, huffing. "Egh, work. Overrated, if you ask me." He quipped, sticking his tongue right back out at his sister, much less subtly. Ariadne didn't glance at her previous company, simply staring her brother down for a few more moments until her eyes flicked to the side and she turned back around.
