Kennedy turned around to the sound of Mercys voice, without even thinking he automatically smiled seeing her and her happy demeanor. "Thank you, this is greatly appreciated" He said with a bright smile as he took both the towel and water. He quickly wiped the sweat that covered his face and neck then drinking some of the water "Actually it was quite peaceful without the squeaky voice asking me things every 5 seconds" He joked before takign another drink of water

"I am NOT squeaky!" She said, her voice going up about three octaves. She cleared her throat, walking up to him and looking more closely at his arms. She traced her fingers gently along the scars, tilting her head as she surveyed them. "What are these from?" She asked softly. "Did the bush try to trim you back?" She asked sarcastically, still absentmindedly tracing his scars while she smiled up at him.

He chuckled as her voice went higher up "Your only proving my statment even more" He said with a cheeky smile and another chuckle as he used the rest of the water and soaked the towel with it. He placed the towl around his neck to cool him off, he then watched as the girl walk up to him. He was very surprised to see her trace his scars which he didn't care but was still shocking. He lifted his arms up more so she could see them better "Haha yeah I wish that's what happened..." He joked with a more sad tone before sighing quietly "These are what my father left behind to remind me of how powerless and useless I am" He said quietly to push the growing sadness in his voice away

She placed her palm on his arm quietly, leaning forward as though she were about to tell him a secret. "I don't think you're powerless. And... I don't think you're useless, either." She whispered, watching his eyes in the silence that followed.

He watched as the girl paced her hand on his arm, his face started to warm up slightly which probably meant he was turning a bit red. He wasn't used to someone, besides his mother, being that close to him so he was admittedly a bit flustered. He did lean forward a bit as she whispered so he could hear her clearly. He smiled softly at her words "Well thank you.. I didn't mean to get any sympathy from that blunt answer but still... thank you" He whispered back to her as he met her gaze, his gaze was soft and cheerful now from her words

She smiled up at him. "I'm just telling you the truth." Mercy had to admit, she enjoyed making him just a bit flustered as she watched the color rise in his face. She slid her hand off his arm and leaned back against the shed. "Are you ready to go plant some flowers?"

He smiled once again at her words -Maybe working here won't be as bad as I thought..- He thought to himself still with a smile. He let out a slow breath of relief as she slid her hand off and leaned back away from him, not that he was complaining that she was close but he just wasn't used to that. "Yep! Just show me where he wanted them" He said while walking over to pick up some iris

"Right this way." Mercy smiled back at him and lead the way down two turns into a small, newer looking circular grove of trees. "Around these." She gave him a helpful smile and jumped gracefully into one of the bigger trees, laying down on her stomach on one of the branches, laying her chin on her hands so she could look down at him.

Kennedy grabbed as many as he could before following her to a patch of freshly planted trees. He set the flowers down that he had "Okay, thanks" He said to her before walking back and forth maybe 2 more times to grab more flowers and get a small handheld shovel. He started at the nearest tree digging a small hole then taking the flower out of it's pot, putting it in the ground, and then making sure it was firm in the ground. Then he continued to repeat the process, his face turned firm again as he began to concentrate and work

Mercy gave a soft sigh and settled in to her branch to watch him work. It was nice, seeing someone who knew what to do and how to do it. After watching him for about twenty minutes, as he began to plant right under the tree she was resting in. She jumped down and grabbed onto his shoulders, hoping to spook him. "Boo!" She grinned, standing rather close to him because of where she had fallen from.
