He got her a glass of water and set it down in front of her. He then leaned against the counter in front of her, listening as she spoke. Finn had never been asked by a criminal to be their partner, just been threatened to not turn them in and such. He wouldn't say that he was a bad cop, he just saw it as when opportunity came his way he took it. He noticed as she talked her face became slightly pink and he smirked some. She was blushing at him, which he found slightly amusing. Finn leaned across the counter as he spoke in a slightly hushed voice. "Look," he says, "if you pay me better than my asshole of a boss does, I might help you. BUT I can get in deeper trouble than you will if I go along with this, so if I go down then you're most likely coming with me. Got it sweet heart?" He added the nickname at the end as a test to see how Maya would react to it.

Maya smirked her eyes on the ground, which she brought up to meet his, "Deal.". Wow, she wasn't expecting him to agree, but okay. "But you have to do as I say, got it? I will not take you being disrespectful, I always have my gun on, don't think you would like me to use it.". Maya leaned back onto the wall, taking the glass of water, and taking small sips she sighed, "And you start tomorrow morning, I have to get some sleep tonight, we have to be rested for tomorrow. Especially you, not sure if you know what you've gotten yourself into.". Maya smirked once more, looking at Finn, if he is working with me it will be a lot fucking easier to get past people. More targeted to the police, if we need to get past them, Finn could just act like he's taking me someplace. After all, he still is technically a cop. She chuckled, "Yes, you will be very useful.". Maya didn't mean to blush again but she did, "You don't happen to have a room I could stay in, do you? I don't feel like sleeping outside tonight.".

He nodded as Maya said that he would start tomorrow. He knew that the chief would be out of town for other businees and that a few of the older and higher up cops would be too. That only left him as one of the more experienced cops in town. Should make them getting caught less likely. He also wasn't planing on doing anything to get a bullet put in him anytime soon. Finn then stood up and nodded, "Yeah I got a guest room you can stay in. It's right over here." He leads Maya to the guest room and opens the door for her. The room was an average bedroom with a bed against the left wall with night stands beside it, a TV on the right wall on a stand, a closet near the door, and a small balcony.

Maya smiled, then nodded, and she followed behind Finn, once they got to the room she looked around, then at the cop. She smiled, "This is perfect, thank you.", Maya smiled and walked over to the bed, flopping onto her back. She looked straight up to the ceiling, then turned her head so she was looking at the doors to the balcony. Maya somewhat squeaked with excitement, quickly sitting back up and hurrying to the doors, opening them. She took a deep breath in when she stepped out to the balcony, looking back at Finn Maya smiled. "You have a great view of the city...absolutely gorgeous." Maya's eyes widened again when she turned back to look at the city. She bet Finn didn't know how much him letting her stay here a night meant to her...she wasn't sleeping outside in the cold for once, ever since her sister left, she...Maya shook her head and sighed to herself.

He smiled some watching Maya enjoy the room. He didn't think that she would act like this and it reminded him of a kid onf Christmas. He walked over onto the balcony with her and nodded, "Yeah it's a decent view. If you go up onto the rooftop there's a whole better view there. Last time I was up there there was a set of tables and a few lights as decorations. Almost like a public hangout area." A nice breeze blew past them and the curtains inside blew lightly. Atleast the weather is nice tonight, he thinks, a nice breeze and a clear night sky.

Maya sighed, content, looking over at Finn she smiled, "Thank you...for taking me in, and um, sorry for...pointing my gun at you, and stuff.". She rubbed the back of her neck, biting her bottom lip, wow, she wasn't used to apologizing... at all, she couldn't remember the last time she did so. "I would love to see the roof sometime, I think I might sleep sometime soon. We...have to sleep sometime soon. Tomorrow will be busy.". She shivered slightly at the breeze, it was cool, but nice at the same time. Usually, she would have called it "freezing", but something about...what was happening, in general, made her feel warm inside.

He nodded, "I accept your apology. Besides you were doing what you had to in the moment. If you want I can show you the rooftop tomorrow after we are done. Not many people go up there unless there is a party or some sort of occasion." He looked at Maya and smiled slightly. "You can stay here as long as you want," he says, "no one lives with me anyway nor does anyone visit me. Besides, I wouldn't mind some company. It gets quiet living on your own, plus not many people want a cop as a roomate."

"Oh, I think they would rather have a cop as a roommate than a jewel-snatching thief." Maya laughed, she was pretty surprised when he said that nobody lived, nor visited him, that was kind of depressing...She sighed before walking back inside, "Um," for no reason she was blushing, and she didn't like it, glaring at herself she continued, "We are going to try to find out where and what this key unlocks. Not so sure its a jewel, but it's worth protecting, so I say we find it tomorrow. Or at least find out what it is...". Maya wasn't even sure it was a jewel, it could be food storage, who knows...and she might be wasting her time on nothing, she leaned onto the wall, looking at the floor glaring. What if it was something completely useless?

Finn walks back in and closes the doors behind him. "Alright," he says, "so do you have a plan right now or will we figure it out as we go?" He glanced over at a clock on one of the nightstands and saw that it was already getting late, being 10:56 already. He rubbed his eyes with one of his hands and held back a yawn. He couldn't believe what he was getting himself into, but he couldn't pull out now. He had two main notes in his head for tomorrow; don't get caught and don't die. Pretty simple to do.

"I don't really know to be honest with you...we might head to the library or chat with my friend if he gets back tomorrow, to learn more." Maya sat down on the bed, her legs crossed, looking at Finn. "I think Im going to have a sleep now, shit, I'm tired." Maya laughed as she lay down, covering her eyes with one of her arms. She put her hand down and looked over at the man, she smiled, "Well...goodnight Finn.". Maya tried to get into a comfortable position, it was a bit hard though. She was used to sleeping on crates, and concrete, nothing comfortable actually, this was new, sleeping in a bed. It was comfortable, just a bit too comfortable...She figured she would get used to the feeling pretty fast though.
