Sage nodded and glanced around. "There's probably something we could use to do that from here, or tools or something to make it easier. It's a store, they should have other supplies than food." He thought for a minute. "There's a cave pretty close to here that's hidden behind a waterfall. The entrance is small, and zombies cant swim, so we'd be safe there. It's easy to defend, and the cave keeps things cooler in summer and warmer in winter. It's a pretty good place if you ask me, and it'll be less obvious to other people if we hole up there. You can't see it from Infront of the waterfall." He grinned. "There's another entrance and exit in the back of the cave, but you've gotta swim for a bit, so that's more of an emergency exit. But we won't be trapped if something happens to the main entrance. Plus, we can see out for a what's since it's farther up on a hill. We'd have pretty much all the advantages if you'd want to stay there." He eyed her for a moment. "We can find something for beds too since stone can be a bit uncomfortable." It was a good place, and he hoped she'd consider it. It was close to this place too, so they could find what they needed here hopefully, and it was by a water source so there'd be more prey around to hunt as well.

Sage nodded thoughtfully for a moment. "That's settled then. I can show you where it's at today at some point." They'd have to leave in the morning, because while it was close to the store, he couldn't walk, so he wasn't sure how long it would take to get there with him limping around. He should be able to swim, to get into the cave, though he obviously couldn't be sure.

He was a stubborn teenager, though...he'd get there, one way or another. He could grit his teeth and deal with pain, and exhaustion was a common sidekick to him so honestly, he would push through whatever. If the girl saw him as weak, she be more heasitat to let him tag along.

That was fair, too ... If she was injured like he was and didn't seem like she could do much, he'd probably help her out and then move on. He desperately hoped the girl wouldn't be that way towards him. He was strong, he could do stuff, he was just currently starving, dehydrated, and hurt pretty badly. Though, he'd had food and water recently. That was helpful.

Sage nodded and the corner of his mouth turned upwards in a slightly relieved smile. He tried to suppress it, but only succeeded about halfway. She would help if he needed it. That was good to hear, because he wasn't sure he could get there by himself, hopping along like some kind of dying kangaroo.

The girl was smart, and obviously knew how survive on her own I'm the woods. He briefly wondered why, but then again, smoke could be seen from miles away....the fact that hiding the smoke was smart was pretty common knowledge. Besides, he didn't want to pry, or do or say anything that would make the girl want him gone. She was the reason he was alive right now, and he wanted to get the chance to thank her. The only issue was, he really couldn't do much right about then. "We can leave whenever," he chirped. "It's probably going to take a while, so the sooner the better," he grumbled. He hated being weak, hated needing help from other people. But right now, this was necessary, and the girl seemed alright.

Sage nodded and grunted in agreement. He was a bit surprised when she offered him a hand up, and stared at her in shock for a second before shaking his head and taking her hand and dragging himself to his feet with a pained grunt.

Once he was up, though, and took most of his weight off of the injured leg, he could take a steadying breath. This was going to be difficult. Very difficult. But he had help, which he was grateful for. And they had all day to get to the cave, so there was no rush.

He was just worried about zombies. He couldn't fight, or run, or even walk, and he would be slowing the girl down with him. He'd be putting them both in danger by accepting her help, and while he knew he needed it and they'd do better together, he still felt guilty about it. She'd helped him, given up valuable resources, and how was he repaying her? By putting her in danger.
