Dakota was next. Axiously waiting by the arena gates, the announcer says something. "Next up, Dakota Asher riding Athena. Athens heard her name and they trotted out to the ring. Dakota sees Jacob and Flame standing on the other side watching. Dakota waves and then lookes ahead. The bell rings. They were off. There were 6 jumps. They had to clear all with no penalties, and in the fastest time. The girl in 1st so far had 0 penalties and a time of 49.08. They had to beat it. They cleared the first 2 jumps and then came the 3rd. It was a jump with water. Athena hated water, but she wanted to win. She ignored the water and cleared the next 3 as well! The last jump was the hardest. Standing at 3 feet was a double oxer! Dakota was worried Athena wouldn't make it. But, Athena saw the finish line. She had to make this jump. The crowd was cheering. Athena came right up to the jump and soared over it. They crossed the line and cleared it in a time of 40.11 with 0 penalties! They won! They earned gold and a blue ribbon! Dakota ran up to Jacob and hugged him. She looked in his eyes and smiled.

Jacob smiles and hugs her back and said " you did wonderful ", flame nuzzle Athena to tell her she did good, Jacob looks in Dakota eyes and that when he leans down and kissed her right there and then, glad he made to watch, flame pranced around happy

Dakota was so shocked. "T-Thanks!" Dakota finally got the words out. Athena nuzzeled Flame back. The two horses pranced around neighing and snorting. Dakota looked at Jacob. "I'm glad you made it! I signed up for the Olympic Trials! Athena and I are so happy that we get to go!" She smiled and watched the horses play. She put her arm around Jacob and rested her head on his shoulder. She was so happy to have Jacob.

Jacob said "and you do great there I am glad for you " Jacob puts his arms around her and smiles glad to have her so and hopefully stay that way, four boys who used to be Jacob cow cutting friends was walking toward the ring to help when they saw Jacob and one yelled " Jacob long time no see"

Dakota saw the boy and told Jacob "I got to go." She grabbed Athena and ran off. Athena reconized the boy as well and snorted. Dakota ran to her truck and went home. Flame had tried to follow them but stopped at the road. He hung his head in sadness when Athena left. That was one of the boys that used to like Dakota. She didn't like him at all. Dakota hoped Jacob wouldn't be mad.

Jacob sighed and said " hey guys what are you doing here" the man said " hanging out what are you doing with Dakota " Jacob said " she a friend " he lied man nods and said " yeah right man" Jacob when to get his horse flame and the man laughs said " still riding that old thing "

Dakota had gotten out of the truck for a second to get Flame away from the road and she heard Jacob. He had lied about her. He must have saw her standing there because he sighed and ran towards her. She took off running. She jumped in her truck and pulled away. She went back to her house. Before she went inside, she looked down the road and Jacob was coming on Flame.

Jacob was kinda push flame harder to move which was making flame mad Jacob hops off and when to her door and knocked leaning his head against it and said " Dakota listen to me I know your mad at me for what I said I didn't know what to do they are not that friendly to me when I have a girlfriend they are always bullies and bullying me is fun for them please open the door"

Dakota just sat in the corner of the room with her head to her knees. She was crying and knew what she had to do. She walked up to the door and opened it. "I don't know what you were thinking. For the least you could've just walked away! I thought I could trust you. But I guess I was wrong. A friend! Seriously?" Dakota hung her head as tears dripped to the ground.

Jacob said " I am sorry very sorry Dakota you more to me then a friend but I can't say it to other people if I told my dad he would really freak out or be mad at me for not telling him sooner " Jacob looks down and puts his hand over his face
