Morgan shrugged softly after a moment and shook her head, reaching over to rest her hand on his knee. "I'd much rather spend time with you. I love them, but I love you more," she chirped to him as they made their way home.

Once they arrived back at the house, Caleb got out silently. He grabbed his homework and walked inside without so much as offering to open her door. He walked to her room, sitting down on her bed and pulling out his schoolwork to do.

Morgan frowned slightly as he just got out, not really sure what had happened. Had she done something? Upset him? Her brows punched together worriedly, although soon wandered inside. She went to sit on the chair in the corner, just sort of watching him. "What's wrong," she asked quietly.

"You need to have a normal high school life, not a watching-over-me-every-second one." He stated, closing one notebook and opening another. "Go hang out with your friends and call me if you need me to come pick you up. I could hear what they thought of me and how you felt when we left. Just go." He said quietly

Morgan just watched him for a moment, her brows pinching together slightly. She didn't want to go. She liked seeing her friends, but she wanted to stay with him - she'd be waiting on him hand and foot. "I wanna stay with you," she murmured softly, standing up and wandering over to his side, where she plopped down quietly. "I hate leaving you by yourself. You deserve a normal life too, Caleb," she hummed, patting his shoulder. She then looked worried after a moment. "What were they thinking of you?" She asked with furrowed brows.

"My scars, why I was so quiet, why I looked so angry, things like that" he explained. "I understand you don't want to leave me alone, but if you want to hang out with your friends, that's fine..."

Morgan furrowed her brows softly, and for a moment shook her head at him. She reached out to take his notebook from him, and put it down on the side. She sort of shifted to sit on his lap. "Pay no attention to them," she told him gently. "I would much rather be around you than to to some party, yeah? And if I was gonna go, I'd want to go with you," she promised, offering a smile. "You have very real reasons to be the way you are... and I know that. You're not the same when it's just the two of us," she added.

"I wish I could be normal for you..." He said softly, his breath hitching with emotion he didn't dare show to anyone else

Morgan shook her head softly after a moment and rolled her eyes at him. "You are normal," she murmured to him, leaning in to peck his lips. "You've been through a lot. I love you, and you're perfect," she whispered. She rested her forehead against his for a moment, and let out a quiet breath. "You're just right, the way you are," she murmured lightly.

Caleb nodded, only half-believing her. His mind was swirling with doubt and an underlying hope that she would always love him
