Sage nodded and the cocked his head slightly when she came back with blankets, though soon realized what she was up to. He took the blankets and thanked the girl tiredly before making a kind of nest with some of the blankets, leaving one to curl up under. He curled up in it, leaving his back pressed up against the girl, and closed his eyes with a soft huff of air. He managed to murmur some form of a quiet goodnight to Quinn before falling asleep.

Quinn glanced at Sage. He was already asleep- how does he do that? She laid down, glad of his body heat... and fell asleep. Quinn was sure she would wake up early today... but could she fall back asleep... her brain sauntered off to other places. As in... Immso glad Sage is here... he is a good kisser... why I am thinking this... Quinn wished her brain would shut off when she fell asleep. She finally drifted into a deeper sleep, all of her thoughts fading into blackness

Sage slept pretty well, for most of the night, but the rumble of thunder off in the distance woke him rather early in the morning. He yawned and forced himself up with a groan, putting the blankets he'd had in the cave and then gently picking Quinn up and carrying her into the cave before settling down again. The rain came after a while, though the thunder wasn't very loud this time, thankfully.

Quinn was so deep in sleep she didn't hear the thunder... or wake up when Sage carried her to the cave. She did come into a lighter sleep though, fidgeting slightly at each crack of thunder. Quinn was comfortable... the only reason she didn't wake up. All her life she had been on edge, waiting for her mother to come into her room and whip her. Soon Quinn had just started waking up right before the sun rose, then sneaking out to the woods. She just adapted that way... but now she didn't have to.

Sage had wanted to go back to sleep, but as the thunder got louder, he realized that just wasn't going to happen. It was loud, and it brought back so many bad memories. So he sort of just crouched down next to Quinn, pressing himself against the girl, flinching at each crack of thunder. He didn't want to wake her though....she was still asleep, and that was good. It was still rather early, after all.

Quinn grew a little more awake with each boom of thunder. She opened her eyes wearily, seeing that Sage was awake. Quinn sat up, immediately feeling colder. The freezing air blew in with the storm, making the cave cold and un inviting. Quinn shivered slightly, moving a little closer to Sage half for the warmth and half to make him feel better... she knew he didn't like storms. She didn't like the sound of the wind... screaming past the cave entrance, whistling in his ear like a whip ready to come down on her back. She shuddered, staring outside into the ferocious.. black.. loud.. stormy night.

Sage stayed rooted where he was, pressed up against Quinn and crouched on the ground, much like a wolf would crouch down in fear of something. His ears were flet against his head, and he let out a soft whine at a really loud clap of thunder that's seemed to echo inside his head. It calmed for a moment before everything came back harder, and at the next boom, he yelped like a wounded dog and practically jumped out of his skin, scrambling backwards and crouching against the back wall of the cave, nose twitching and every muscle tense. He wanted to go back to Quinn, but she was too close to the noise. So he sort of just sat there panicking and trying not to actually freak out outwardly too much.

Quinn glanced at Sage. He didn't look to good... then he let out a yelp. She jumped backwards, startled, then watched him cower at the back of the cave for a moment. Quinn felt sad... she brought some blankets and went back there, sitting down again near him. "The storm will be over soon.." she whispered. She could tell it was dying down... there weren't as many booms of thunder or flashes of lightning, the the rain was easing up.

Sage watched the girl walk over and re set everything down. After a moment, he shifted so he was pressed up against the girl. He was trembling slightly, and no doubt she could feel his shallow breaths and pounding heart. He tore his gaze away from the storm to look at her when she spoke up, and eventually he slowly lowered his head to rest on her leg, still eyeing the storm but a bit more comfortable in the back with the girl.

Quinn willed the storm to be over. She hated seeing Sage like this.. Quinn tipped her head. She didn't hear any more rain... no flashes of lighting followed by booms of thunder... "I think it's over.." Quinn said, half trying to sooth Sage... and half trying to soothe herself. She had an arm wrapped around Sage the best she could, with her eyes closed. Quinn breathed slowly, listening hard. She winced as pain shot through her head, but kept trying to ask the animals outside the cave if the storm was really over. After a couple failed attempts Quinn heard one animal think 'Yes, its over for good'. She relaxed slightly, a head ache slowly coming on... but as long as the storm was over Quinn didn't care
