Sage eventually wandered down to the kitchen to try and find a bottle, and warm the milk up for Silas. The baby had started to wail by the time he was able to get a decent meal for him, and he latched on eagerly, Sage sinking into a chair while the baby sucked at the bottle happily. He sort of just zoned out of a while, and then decided to head back to the room Mari was in once the bottle was empty and Silas was content. The baby fell asleep against his shoulder as he walked down to the doctor's ward, and he sighed softly, stroking the baby's tiny head. He was just glad to have Silas....he was really the only thing keeping him...well, sane as of then. He slid into the room Mari was in quietly, expecting the girl to still be asleep. Much to his surprise, she was awake, and his face lit up quite a bit. He crossed the room quickly, sliding under the covers so Mari could hold Silas and he could wrap himself around both of them. It was definitely good to see her awake. "How long have you been up," he asked quietly, then he shook his head. "You don't have to answer," he murmured...she looked exhausted.

Mari looked up when the boy came in, trying to give him a small smile as he came over. She slipped over to the boy, taking the baby from Sage and wrapping her arms around him as she leaned back heavily. "I haven't been up for long... the doctor just changed my sheets," she sighed softly to the boy, moving her head a little bit to rest her head on his shoulder. She drew in a deep breath before opening her eyes up at him. "You smell amazing," she babbled quietly before pecking his cheek softly, then going back to fussing over her child. "Is the doctor upset," she whispered after a couple of moments. She didn't want the man to be upset... she hadn't tried to upset Sage... but if he seemed that way, the older man was probably a bit disappointed in her.

Sage sighed softly in a bit of relief and nodded. Good, she hadn't been up and alone for long, then. He cuddled in as best he could without hurting her, nodding with a light hum. "Good," he murmured. Then he chuckled lightly and pressed a kiss to her temple. "That was really random," he hummed in a rather amused manner. Then he shook his head. "No ...he's just worried. About all three of us, I think. He doesn't like seeing you hurt any more than I do," he informed her lightly before yawning. He was tired....and now that she was up, he could sleep, right? Could he manage that without freaking out again? He hoped so.. he couldn't stay up much longer.

Mari gave a bit of a sigh before smiling to him. "I've missed you - I feel like I haven't seen you in ages. Plus, you smell safe to me," she mused softly. She shook her head a little bit... really? "He's worried about us? He gave me the look of death earlier," she whispered quietly. She looked at Sage for a few moments before shaking her head softly. He looked exhausted, he did... but she was just glad to see him. He'd probably been in a few times... but she hadn't seen him in ages. "Go to sleep... I'll watch Silas for a little while," she told him gently.

Sage hummed lightly. "You haven't. It's been four days or so," he murmured softly. Then he chuckled. "I think anything smells better than old sheets," he noted with amusement before nodding. "He just wants you to get better and me to be able to calm down enough to not throw up anything I eat," he told her. Then he wrinkled his nose slightly...he hadn't meant to add the last part, but whatever. He nodded in response to her last comment, really too tired to argue. So, he just cuddled in and closed his eyes. He fell asleep really quickly, really just exhausted.

Mari shook her head and let him curl in, sticking her face in his hair. "No... it's just you. You smell amazing," she mused gently. He did, too. That wet mossy scent that belonged so solely to him. It was safe and warm and smelled like home... she loved it, she really did. She loved him too, and she couldn't help but feel lucky that he was... still... hers. She gently bounced Silas in her arms, though her gaze flipped straight back to him after a little while. "What?" Though, by then he was flat-out asleep. What? He'd been throwing up? Was he alright? Sick? Or was he just worried? Why hadn't he said anything?

Sage had dimly heard the girl ask her question, though he didnt really get a chance to respond. He was just really tired. He slept for quite a while before stirring slightly and forcing himself to open his eyes. He'd missed being able to cuddle up and sleep with the girl...but he wanted to make sure she and Silas were alright. Besides, he'd missed hearing her voice, and seeing her eyes look...well, alive. His face formed a soft smile when he saw her there, and shifted slightly before settling down into her again with a soft huff of air.

Mari soon went to put the sleeping child to bed before setting down next to Sage. She looked at him for a few moments... so peaceful. So wonderful. She hated making him so upset... she hated that even for a moment he didn't make her happy, because god he did. And for the first time in days, she could curl into him, touch him... have his skin against hers. She could hear his slow heartbeat, his warmth and rise and fall of his breath. She rested her head on his chest, and slipped her hand under his shirt the way she normally did... well, the way she had about two weeks prior. She soon managed to sleep, though... tightly curled up with Sage.

Sage wasn't aware of much the second he woke up, but what he did notice was that she'd slipped her hands under his shirt, like her usual habit before she'd gotten hurt. Good ...it meant things were going back to normal. He hadn't known how much he'd missed that simple little touch, or her skin against hers. Even her smell swirling around his head was wonderful...he'd missed it more than he could have ever explained. He buried his nose in her hair, tightening his hold on the girl slightly, not wanting to ever let her go. Mayne of he stayed here and held her, she'd get better sooner. It was a stupid idea, but he just wished she could be healthy. He knew she hated being like this...unable to care for herself. He hated it too. But, he'd learned to let the girl help him, to let her be the strong one and let him be weak for a bit until he could take up his strength again. She needed to learn it too, it would only help her. But right now, he just wanted to cuddle. Silas had been taken care of again, so he had already been fed and was sleeping peacefully next to them....they had time.

Mari closed her eyes softly, just letting herself rest. She was still cold, but his added warmth was a comfort... it really was. He was a comfort to her in every way. She felt warm with him, safe like she was where she was meant to be... to think he'd wanted to take himself away from her just hurt awfully. She found herself tightening herself around him as she slept, just not wanting to let him go. To be honest, she felt pretty gross... did he think she was? Probably. She was still pretty bloody, but she'd seen him in worse states. She'd have to force herself into a shower when she was more awake.
