Sage furrowed his brows slightly when she said he hadn't made her cry. Well, it was because of him, wasn't it? Even if it was just because she didn't want to see him hurt. But when she asked him to come over, he slipped off the chair and padded over, hesitating slightly at the side of the bed. She'd wanted him to come over...but did she want him to come in with her? He really was bad at this...he never knew what to do, and he was terrified of doing something wrong and upsetting the girl. Then again, he'd already gone and done that. So, he sort of just perched on the edge of the bed, half expecting to have to stand up again. He really hated to upset her again, especially when she should be resting and healing, not worrying about him and what he was doing or thinking. But at least she wasn't mad....he could tell that much. And he was thankful for that, at least. He was also glad to see that she was cuddling up with Silas again...that was a good sign, he thought. At least he hoped so. The baby seemed happy, at least. He was probably the only happy one in the room. Though, Amber was just confused. Worried about the low feelings, maybe, but he really didn't know what the cat was thinking.

Mari sighed softly when he just came to sit on her side. "You're my fiancé. Come cuddle," she told him quietly. She glanced back after a moment, only to see his cheek tear stained. "Why were you crying," she whispered quietly to the boy. She didn't want to make him cry. She didn't want to make him feel bad in any way. "I'm sorry... it didn't want you to cry," she then added gently. She just wanted him to be... happy. "Do I make you happy?" She eventually whispered. was that what this was about? Did she not make him as happy as he deserved to be?

Sage couldn't help the relieved sag of his shoulders when the girl said he could cuddle up. He turned around so he could snuggle up a against the girl, burying his face in the crook of her neck. "I don't know," he murmured. "I guess I'm just tired and hungry and scaring myself and my emotions are running wild..." He trailed off with a shrug. Then he shook his head. "Of course you do," he murmured. "You and Silas, and the doctor and Amber....all of you make me happy." He snuggled in a bit more, sliding under the covers after a moment. "You're the reason I am happy, and..." He trailed off when he felt warmth, and yelped after a moment. "Mari," he squeaked. "How long have you been bleeding," he yelped.

Mari sighed softly when she felt his face in the side of her neck. Good. He only seemed to trust her when he was there... and she did like it. It seemed to comfort her more than anything. She reached back to place a hand in his hair, in a way that comforted him the best she could. "Then go to sleep... ask the doctor to get you some food and sleep," she told him with a soft sigh. She just didn't want him feeling like he'd done anything wrong. He'd scared himself, and he'd scared her too. She wouldn't have say anything like that unless she wanted to leave, so she was still trying to wrap her head around why he'd done it. Why he'd dare to say that if he even might have lost her. She sighed with relief when he slipped under the covers, but jumped at his little squeak. What? She was still bleeding? God, she'd forgotten... she couldn't even feel it anymore. But that was right. She'd ripped her stitches a little bit ago. When she'd tried to go after him. And probably a few more when she had to see to Silas. "I..." she trailed off quietly. It wasn't heavily bleeding now... but it was still bleeding a fair amount. Silas has started to cry before she could call the doctor through... but she could barely feel anything now.

Sage pursed his lips slightly when that was all the girl had said and slipped out of bed with a slight sigh. "I'll get the doctor," he murmured. "Then we can all get some rest." She had to rest to heal...and she needed to get patched up first. She couldn't heal if she kept busting her stitches open again. He padded out and told the doctor what had happened, and the man fixed the issue, whatever it was, quickly enough, before handing Sage a pill. He wasn't sure what it was, but no doubt the old man had noticed...well, everything that was wrong. He took it without question before curling up next to Mari again, wrapping his arm around her and Silas. Amber curled up behind him with her back against his, like usual, and that was really all he could manage to even think about before his eye fluttered closed and he fell into a rather deep sleep. Whatever the doctor had given him, it was working.

Mari was pretty much blacked out by the time the doctor had gotten her... she'd gone cold and quiet, her breath slowing again. She'd lost a fair bit of blood, so that made sense. She'd just been... bleeding steadily. Her sheets were soaked, and so was her dress, but there wasn't much chance of her waking up now. She was just... glad to be asleep. And that Sage wasn't angry at her or trying to leave... she still didn't feel quite comfortable to some extent, and she still felt stiff towards Sage and Silas... but she was just scared that she was going to hurt someone. Or that someone was going to hurt her. She'd never been scared of Sage leaving her before... but now that thought was in the front of her head, and it terrified her senseless. She loved him so damn much, but now... she was just... scared.

Sage had wanted to stay awake, and make sure the girl was alright...she had gone pale and all the rest, but the doctor had said it was alright, and he'd been knocked out by the pill so....there was no way he could stay up now. He was still a bit antsy, and a bit nervous...scared for Mari, and also a bit for Silas...if they were both out cold, who would take care of him? And what would happen when they woke up? Was Mari ok with how things had gone? He was relieved to know she didn't want to leave him, or take his child away, but they hadn't really been able to finish their conversation, either. Oh, well. For now, he supposed they could all agree that he just needed to relax and get some decent rest while he was all drugged up.

Mari just... slept through the next few days. She woke up briefly to eat, but it wasn't much, and then she was right back to sleep. Silas had been moved into his crib, and Sage had come and gone whenever he felt like it. She felt terrible, she did, but all the same, she was exhausted... her head hurt, her whole body hurt, and all she wanted to do was close her eyes and just... give up. She wanted to give up. But soon enough, she came around enough o sit in a chair while the doctor changed her bloody sheets.

The next few days had been hard on Sage. He'd not slept at all, and anything he'd managed to eat had been thrown back up rather quickly, so he'd just stopped trying after the first few times he'd upchucked onto the kitchen floor. Silas seemed alright...he'd set the baby down by Mari when he seemed to want her, though he had to settle for bottles and whatever Sage could do. He'd grown quite a bit, and could very nearly well sit up mostly by himself now. He wished Mari had been able to see him learning, but maybe she'd be up soon enough to see him learning the last little bit. And she'd see him talk, and walk, and learn to run...right? He had to just keep telling himself she'd be alright. He'd still gone to the barn, and worked...he wasn't sure of what else to do. He'd had to bring Silas down to the barn with him...Amber had stuck near the boy and alerted Sage if he moved or got into something if he hadn't noticed. He was on his way back now, mindlessly wandering through the castle halls in an effort to just keep busy somehow. To try and get out of his head as much as possible, though he was failing pretty badly at it all. He zoned out most of the time, really, but he came to briefly to see the door to the queen's bedroom. He sort of stopped and stared at it for a moment, recalling how excited he was to ask her to borrow the vacation home for their honeymoon. Now it just seemed like it would never happen, the way it was going with Mari. He sighed slightly and shifted Silas, who'd started to coo hungrily, to his other hip. He'd have to find the energy to go feed him now.

Mari eventually manage to crawl back into bed, where she just sat, staring at the sheets. She wanted to cuddle up with Sage now. Hold her baby for a while, maybe. She missed him. She was still so tired... so exhausted. Like at any moment she could just blackout. The doctor came in after a while and flashed her a look before disappearing. Had she upset him too? Had she said something? Was it because Sage was upset? Was he even upset? She felt useless. She couldn't do anything... she couldn't care for Silas, or herself, or Sage. He needed her as much as she needed him... probably more than she needed him, and she liked that. She liked that she could care for someone. She was alone, though, and she hated that. She hated that she couldn't just be normal again.
