Sage wasn't aware of the queen coming into he room, nor was he aware of the child cooing or hungrily sucking on the bottle. He was sort of just shifting around constantly in his chair, trying to stay calm enough to get some rest. Real rest, not just sleeping to pass time and not feel....well, feelings. But, in maybe ten minutes, he jerked awake, and out of his chair, looking around wildly as he scrambled over to curl up in the corner of the room, sinking down into a ball with his arms around his knees, still looking wildly about. It was quite obvious he was terrified of something, and was definitely struggling, but he still wasn't very aware of the queen there. He was aware, of course, in the back of his head ....but it hadn't connected yet. Mari was asleep...and he just lost more and more control the longer he sat there. He'd started scratching his arms at some point, leaving lines of blood along the much older scars. Possibly the scariest thing, though, about this all, was that so far he was silent.

(I'm thinking we have the queen try and help then get the doctor when it doesn't do anything. Maybe we can have the doctor tell her about his past, as Sage is already scared of her lol. Sorry, just wanted to check before I wrote anything else aha)

The woman sat with the child, gently rocking him back and forth until he drifted off to sleep again, then lowered him to the crib, where she then continued to rock him. It was a few more moments until she heard the quick movements of the chair. Her head whipped around, only to see the boy quivering in the corner. She just kind of stared at him, but clearly, he wasn't with it right then. He was trying to scratch himself, too, so she couldn't just leave him to it. She furrowed her brows and went to tap him on the shoulder, but when she barely got a response she padded over to the doctor's ward and knocked on his door. "Err... your boy, Sage? Is freaking out about something," she told him in a slightly more worried tone. Anya had told her years back that he did this... but she wasn't sure just how serious it was.

Sage had barely noticed when the woman had tapped him on the shoulder, he sort of half jerked away from the touch, but that was just a simple response...he hadn't actually noticed the woman there. The doctor raised his head when the woman came into his office and frowned before quickly getting up and heading to the room. By the time he got there, blood was...well, pretty much everywhere around the boy. There were lines along his arms, and face, and neck...and he was still quite obviously out of it. He stepped over to the boy, grabbing his hands and keeping him contained and still. The boy started thrashing around then, which he'd expected...he always did that when he was suddenly kept still. The doctor sort of just held him while he thrashed around and made various noises before his eyes had rolled back into his head and he'd collapsed onto the doctor. The man grunted and untangled himself from the boy, setting him up somewhere he could clean the scratches up before throwing out the gauze and sitting down in his office again with a huff of weary air.

The woman watched as the doctor dealt with the young man. She didn't know how bad these things were with him... but there was blood pretty much everywhere. She wondered what had triggered it... or why. She didn't have a clue, but he genuinely just seemed scared about something... she didn't know what, though. It just went from him sleeping quietly to freaking out. She spotted Mari rolling over, clearly a bit disrupted by the sounds, but she settled soon enough. She was a bit curious as to what was going on... but she went to wait in the doctors office for the man to come back though... she didn't know what had happened, but she didn't feel like sh would have helped by being there.

The doctor sat down and got himself settled before cocking his head at the queen, who was still standing there. "If you want an explanation, you'd best sit down. It's a long story," he I formed her as he wiped off his hands and jotted down a few noted in his notebook. He'd been keeping track of when the boy freaked out like that....when, where, and what time, and any other information he had. He'd give the woman an explanation, but she'd better be prepared to sit and listen for a while...it wasn't a quick story. She'd be here for quite some time of she wanted it all.

The older woman hummed before sitting down as instructed. She'd do pretty much whatever the doctor said... he was like a father to her. He'd treated her mother when she was ill, and had been around her since a child. She didn't really have as much respect for anyone else other than him. She stared at him for a moment before huffing out a breath. "Well, go on then," she hummed quietly. "What was that? It wasn't particularly settling.. not at all," she told the old man. It wasn't at all. She didn't like that the child was there, either... if it had gotten worse she wondered if whatever that was would have been taken out on Mari or Silas.

The doctor pursed his lips slightly as he thought, leaning back in his chair, nodding in response to her comments. "You know where he came from," he started. "He's lived his whole life down in the slums. He's had to work at the tavern, make the money for the family and care for his younger sister. She was a sweet lamb...nicest girl I ever met." He shrugged slightly. "The boy saw his father kill his mother at a young age.... the father had a drinking issue, and took it out on the boy too. Anya dragged him out to me a few times when the old man would have killed him," he explained, shaking his head. "He had nightmares that turn into flashbacks, which is what you saw. He's been through a lot at home, and on the streets, and he'd had to work rooms in the tavern for years to keep their family from starving." He sighed and pursed his lips again. "He's never hurt anyone but himself, but he occasionally freaks out a bit. And, well, we can usually calm him down...but he doesn't trust you, so he didn't respond," he added almost apologetically.

The woman listened to the man with a slightly cocked head. She was rather interested in the boy... to find out what made him like... this. He was snappy and rude, and to be honest she just found him very, very temperamental. But, to be honest, she didn't expect there to be so much behind it. She really, really just thought he was some spoilt kid her daughter had dragged back. That's what it seemed like to her, at least. But she was still a bit weary of him... she didn't trust him not to hurt anyone... she knew her daughter was close with him years back, but she also knew people could change quite a lot in the space of a couple of years. "Are Silas and Mari safe?" That was an important question to her. Just because he hadn't hurt anyone, that didn't mean he wouldn't.
